I'm beginning to add minimal amounts of color to my black and white style to show an evolution within my concentration. It's supposed to be a very different type of imagery from all my previous works as the emotion is meant to encompass my change of personal outlook following the New Year

AMAZING! Chalk Pastels are a hard medium IMO, and you just nailed it so well.
I'm loving the colors reflecting off the nose and glasses, it just totally changes the mood of the picture and makes me feel happy.
