Two friends were in the back of a sub-urban home watching a bon-fire take place. Pieces of chair and old sofas were burning before them and the only sound heard was the crackle and hiss of the various wooden furniture burning.
"Remember what I said back in the car." said the tall pale friend. He had long black hair that reached a little down past his neck that flowed behind his head. He was wearing a pair of black tripp pants a Korn T-shirt.
"Yeah, I know." The other friend was holding a certain book in his hand. He was half his friend's size, wearing the same kind of pants and a bad religion shirt.
"This damn book... it's copying me." said the other friend
"Or are you copying it?" replied the friend. The other friend chuckled.
"Who knows." They stood there in the darkness in the night, the fire was the only source of night. The other friend looked around at the desolation of the neighborhood, where backyards weren't separated by fences and green grass and tall trees were plentiful. This kind of scenery was new to the other friend, for he lived in the ghetto of the city all his life. He looked up at the cloudy night sky.
"But dude... I was in that insane asylum when I first read the book, writing almost the same story..."
"I know dude"
"And it just... made me go insane! I had a goddamn mental breakdown because of it!" The friend took out a square and passed it to the other friend with a lighter. The other friend lit it and took a long drag.
"Remember what I'm expecting you to do."
"I know." He looked at the book carefully, which only bear the title.
"I thought what I'd do was, I pretend I was one of those deaf mutes..." The friend placed his hand on the other friend's shoulder. And, without hesitation, The other friend chucked the book into the dying fire.
"Good job dude." They watched in silence, as the book and other pieces of wood burned into ashes, than The friend grabbed a bucket of water and poured it on the embers.
"Let's go inisde." And the two friends walked back to the sub urban home.
