Ephraim found himself falling to the ground in the Glorie Chamber. Solomon quickly ran to his aid. "Ephraim! Ephraim, are you ok?" Ephraim qucikly jumped up and yelled "I AM NOT SIEGFRIED!". Solomon looked at him strangely. "Of course you're not Siegfried, you're Ephraim. Remember?" Ephraim looked around and became less tense. "Ephraim... right... I'm Ephraim..." he stated. Ephraim had explained his vision to Solomon. "Hmm... can't say I've ever heard of someone named Siegfried. Or elves. Or a mass murder. Have you been eating enough, Ephraim? Getting enough sleep?" Solomon asked. Ephraim simply shrugged and returned his gaze to the Glorie. He tapped it again, with no visions this time. He soon discovered that depending where he tapped the blade, the note would change pitch. Marie soon entered the room. "Your Majesty, we're ready to leave for Pharis." "Ah, good then. Ephraim, go on then. And... please be careful. If anything happened to you, I wouldn't hear the end of it from Alcard after I pass." Solomon said with a chuckle. Ephraim left and went with Marie. The atmosphere was tense as the two walked through the corridors of the castle. Marie final broke the silence. "Of all the people on the elite guard that could've come with me... I can't believe I get stuck with you two." Ephraim cocked an eyebrow in reply. "You're barely older than me, and you know I could stand up to you in a duel!" "We could argue about this the whole way to Lira, or we can shut up and do the damn job." Marie replied harshly. "I wonder why she's such a cold person." Ephraim wondered.
They continued walking until they reached the caravan, where Ricard was arguing with a trader. "...NO, I don't want any of your swords, they look like they'd break with a light tap! Who the hell let you in anyway?! GUARD! Throw this idiot out!" As the trader was dragged away, Ricard noticed Ephraim and Marie, but he quickly fixated on Ephraim's new weapon. "Is THIS, what my father wanted you for?! I don't see why he couldn't have asked me..." Ricard's eyes quickly flashed away from Ephraim's gaze. "There's that look again..." Ephraim thought. "You two coming or what?" Marie asked. She was already in the caravan. "Yeah. Let's go." Ricard said. As the trio left Ilyad, Ephraim drifted into thought. "Pharis... Never thought I'd have to see this place in my life. Is it really what everyone says it is? Maybe I can find information on Klaus while I'm there. But then again, what would I do if I DID find him? After all, I can't just commit a murder. Though, if Pharis is really like everyone tells me, I'd doubt they'd care. And... what was that vision? Those creatures... were they truly elves? And who is Siegfried, and why would he do such a thing? Ah, we've got a long trip. I'll worry about it when we get to Lira." Tired from the day's ordeals, Ephraim soon started fall into a deep sleep. Before he drifted off though, he thought he had noticed something strange. Was Ricard staring at the Glorie with a look of hate in his eyes? He decided it was simply his fatigue getting the better of him and fell asleep.
