Mandari quirked an eyebrow. Junpei took a deep breath, waving the torch to allow the flame to grow. "The Ninkin, in their search, have brought back bodies. None their prince." . Zero followed lazily at his master's heels, whimpering. "They've killed many suspected to be keeping information about their prince." Mandari pulled at the cloth around her shoulders. "And what do they want with you?" Junpei paused for a moment.
"Nothing, just passing through."
I don't believe you.... The dim light from the torch cast eerie shadows on the wall. Junpei walking ahead of her, followed by Zero. Even though she was about a foot away from him, he seemed very far away. Just a day before he was across the room and she felt as if he were breathing down her neck. Something was not right. The raven haired girl then pulled the cloth so it covered her chest. The white under gown she'd thrown on in a hurry had gone see through, showing the pale pink unmentionable circles. She blushed to herself, thanking the darkness for covering her up.
Soon they reached a wall. Junpei fumbled with the torch as he placed his hand on the low ceiling. "There should be a door here somewhere." he muttered, tapping the packed dirt ceiling. His hands jerked upward and a loud creak emitted from the ceiling. Sunlight flooded into the dark tunnel. "We need to move fast. There's a ridge nearby. If we head south we should be there by nightfall"
Mandari took his hand and pulled herself up. "If you haven't seen anyone in years, how do you know about these people?" .Zero barked loudly. "Zero here is trained to listen in on conversations. He poses as a wild dog and picks up information. Since I can't understand him otherwise, he was also taught morse code. He taps out messages to me"
Mandari made a face "Uh huh... ok then" These two just get weirder and weirder
They briskly walked through the forest. At this point Junpei didn't seem to care about her head. He didn't have that sugary attitude. He was cold as ice, and serious.
Soon Mandari got fed up with the silence. "Hey! How much farther?!" . "As far as it is"
Mandari reeled back with disgust. "Excuse me, since when do you talk to me like that?"
Junpei ran a hand through his blond hair. "We still have a lot to go. Just cool it" . Zero trotted ahead, trying to avoid the tense atmosphere. "Well we've been walking forever." she complained, flailing her arms. She dragged teh blanket behind her angrily. Junpei turned to argue but instead blushed and looked away. Apparently they hadn't been walking forever. She was still damp. Mandari looked down at her own feminism showing through her wet undergarments and paused for a moment.
Enter the stereotypical "caught naked" scream
She covered her breasts with the blanket, covered in leaves and picked up debris.
It was going to be a long long walk
