I awoke in a shadow, and all was calm or at least for now. Memories of battle flood my mind and nearly overwhelm me. When I finally got a hold on myself I realized that something was out of place. I looked myself over and then it hit me. "I'm not suppose to be here." I said realizing that I was no longer a shadow.
The realization that I was a wandering Shade set in. I panicked and searched the room I was in with my eyes hoping to see my Ilina, but she was gone. Where she was now was beyond my knowledge, but I knew I had to find her. I had a good Idea of where to look, Kadul the castle city of the kingdom where she was raised. I looks like nothing more then an enormous pillar in the center of the cat dragon kingdom. I knew that if she wasn't there she would eventually return for it is her home.
I got up and realized that the quickest and safest way for a shade to travel was through the very thing we are all made of, the shadows. However sense I had just recently become a shade I did not know how to use my new abilities. So I decided to just use the abilities I already know until I learn how to use the new ones. I shape shift into a black cat but it's not the same kind of shape shifting I know. I was engulfed by the shadow I was standing in and then the shadow begins to fall like sand. The shadow continued to fall until all that was left was the small black cat that I shadow shifted into.
I take off for Kadul running out of the crumbled tower and trough the elven forest. Not long after I entered the forest I heard sounds so I hid in a shadow. Dragon hunters come into view I knew they wouldn't be able to harm me, but I couldn't have them fallowing me to my Ilina. I waited for them to leave then I climbed a tree and walked one of the branches to be sure I wasn't being fallowed.
I continued on until night fall, then I rested and practiced my powers. I wasn't sure what I was trying to do but I tried to learn my powers. When the mornings came I continued on my way, and when the sun went down I practiced.
When I reach Kadul I searched for the entrance in it's cliff face. I soon found a crack in it big enough for me to fit through. I entered through the crack and traveled the rigged tunnel to the city inside. Once inside I began to look for my Ilina. The dragons moon would be here in a few days and I knew she wouldn't want to miss it. However it's not because of her coronation, but for her people. I continued to search but found no sign of her until the morning of the dragons moon.
I hear one of the cat dragons yell, "Princess Jashara has returned!" I was over joyed to hear those words that I went over to see her. However the moment I saw her something Inside me snapped, and I could no longer control myself, but I could see everything. I shadow shifted back to my true form and leaped at her. She jumped back and I landed in front of her snarling and growling. I was almost certain that the other cat dragon were going to attack me.
Princess Jashara raised a hand and she said, "Don't interfere, this is my battle." I'm sure that she recognized she own shadow in the midst of the fiery blackness. We fought for what seemed like forever to me, when I knocked her back into an odd circle. At that point I saw an opening and lunged at her, but she raised fire around her. When I landed in the circle of fire I couldn't see her at first, then I saw her outside of it just watching me. The light from the fire hurt so much I couldn't move. I felt a tear fall and catch fire yet I still couldn't move. The fire fell and so did I, but the tear was still in flames. I heard paw steps, and felt my strength fade as I lay there.
Than I heard the voice of my Ilina say, "You are of the darkness, yet you aren't part of it." I hear her pick up the flaming tear and felt her roll me onto my back. "The light of The Dragons Moon will soon fill this room, and this Shadow will be part of me once more!"
I heard every cat dragon in the kingdom roar and saw the light of the dragons moon enter the circle. My heart sank as I helplessly watch her lift the tear up high. When the light filled the circle she brought it down on my chest. I roared in pain as both the light and the tear began to burn into me, yet I made no sound. The pain was unbearable, and I could feel myself fading away into the darkness that created me.

- Wow!! You did a great job sweetheart. I don't remember seeing this story amongst all your other short stories laying around our room. I think this one is very captivating. With the exception of some spelling errors (like I can talk about spelling LOL) it's still a Great Piece Love. biggrin
