- There was too much on mind then. Will I live? Am I gonna crash? Will someone notice me?The black Jeep was scraping against the pavement and all of the sudden I couldn't scream, think, or ANYTHING. I closed my eyes and fell into a what seemed like a never-ending sleep. Eventually, my eyes did open from the “nap” and they moved around to see that I was surrounded by doctors, family, and friends. I opened my mouth and spoke. “Wha- what happened?” Everyone just turned away from everything else and stared at me. I was a little, wait no..... COMPLETELY scared because of their expressions. Because of the hospital. Because of my never-ending nap. My mom was the first to speak to me. “Honey, you are in the Hartford Children's Hospital. You were in the car's passenger seat when we crashed. No one else was hurt but you. The nice doctors are still taking tests and seeing if it has left any damage to your skull or anything else. It will be OK Alexa.” I didn't really know what to say. Should I have asked all of my questions or left them floating away in my head? I chose to ask away. “How long have I been out?” I said making thought of what other questions I had. “About 7 hours sweetheart.” My mom answered trying to be as calm as possible. I tried to stand up to hug her but a huge shot of pain struck throughout my left leg. “OUCH!!!!!” I screamed in pain and as soon as I was heard, a decision was made to get it x-rayed. Dr. Fitzgerald rolled me down in a wheelchair to the x-ray room and I lifted my leg up onto the x-ray table. The machine was loud and finally when my trip to back to the room was over the doctor announced the results. “Alexa's left leg is indeed broken so we will get as much help as possible for it.” Dr. Fitzgerald said. The team of nurses equipped my leg with a boot and they injected a shot into it. I have a TERRIBLE fear of needles so I thought I was gonna puke! Soon later they asked me questions such as, What is your name?, Where are you?, Why are you here. But it was the last one that didn't have an answer in my mind, When were you born? I just tried my best to answer but I couldn't. At that point I didn't know where I lived or even who with. I hope this was a trick question because that's what it seemed like to me.
