The night was cool and the moon was big and bright. The soft wind made gentle ripples form throughout the pond. Grass swaying, sand moving, there was no noise in the dark eve. Unusual for a creek home to many like this. Perhaps it means something magical is amiss...
A footstep. A silent swish and tap through the night. Finally, silence again. And then the ever annoying splashing as something goes through the water. The splashing stops and a bright light emits from the center of the pond. A young girl, dressed in a white nightgown, is soaked to her hair. Wet, yet strangely beautiful skin, glows pearly white. Like a ghost. Her giant blue eyes make her look even more mystical. Her hair, a brown tinged black, sticks to her face and skin. Seeing how it reaches all the way down to her waist, she has most of it up in a acute bun.
Ever so slowly, she turns to face the moon. Closing her eyes, she begins.
It started with a graceful twirl, fastly accelerating into a steady speed. Her dress fans out to show her gown is the only thing she has on. But even so, the only color on her face is but the blue and white of her eyes and skin. Then, out of the blue, she rizes. Unnoticable at first, but as she gets higher, her feet appear from the dark waters bit by bit.
Upon her ankles are glistening golden anklets. There is a small hole on both of them; as if they were made to be attached to a chain. But the thing that stands out the most is the intricate tattoo upon her right foot. It spreads up to the middle of her lower leg to the tip of the toe. It seems to be a bird- no a rose- no... the water, wind, fire, and earth. It is all.
Her spins grow more advanced, she lifts a leg here and an arm there. Before you know it, she begins to leap into the air and all around. Dancing on the pond, the water sprays up and everywhere as she kicks and pirrouettes. But her dainty feet never touch the surface. A back bend, a toss of her head, a slight reaching of her leg. And then she is gone.
But she is still there. It is but the water that was ever getting taller with each dance step. It finally grew till it hid the girl from view. It creates a sphere of some sort around her. But at that moment, a cloud hides the moon. A single black cloud on a clear night.
The crystalline water grows murky and black. Tendrils of water soar upwards and begin prodding the still clear water sphere. With each attack the sphere grows thinner. Before long, you can see the silouette of the girl.
She is dancing, faster, more urgent, a crazed energetic feeling. Harder spins, stronger kicks, more meaning filled movements.
The water creates an enormous wave.
And then she is gone.
But she is still there. Her sphere is as dark as the surrounding waters. It rizes on a geyser of malice. You can see her, trapped and her white dress dyed a horrible red. There is no air. No hope. No life.
A red dress. A defeated girl. A note disguised as the water, wind, fire, and earth; It is All and It is an inkling.... of a rebellion.
