• "Maria!" It was Trevor. He was at the airport waiting for me to get off my plane. I went to visit my cousin in Texas and was just arriving in Maryland now. I could tell Trevor was anxious to see me for the first time in 2 weeks. He ran toward me the second I stepped off of the plane. I dropped my bags and ran toward him. When we got to each other, he scooped me up in his arms and kissed me. "I missed you so much! I'm so happy you're home!" He put me down and went to get my bags. "Awe, I missed you too." I whispered to myself.

We walked out of the airport together and to his car. He loaded my bags into the trunk and opened my door for me. I got in and waited for him. When he stepped in and put his seatbelt on, the first thing I heard him say was, "I'm sorry." "Why are you sorry?" I asked. I had no idea where this was going. "Maria, I.. I.. I.." He studdered. "You what?" "I got you something. But, I know you won't like it. And now I feel bad that I bought it." Just then, I saw the perfectly wrapped present on his lap.

"What is it?" I prompted him. "Fine, open it and find out." He said. "Hand it over." I said with a smile. He gave it to me. I unwrapped it slowly, creating a dramatic effect. After there was no more wrapping, I took the box's lid off. "Oh my. Trevor.." I started to say. It was an outfit that girl would wear to a club. "Trevor, why? Why would you even LOOK at this?! What's wrong with you?!" I yelled. He started to drive. About a half hour later, we were at my house. "I'm so sorry." He said one last time. He took the box from me and stepped out of the car. He went around to the trunk and got my bags out. He put them up on my front porch. The whole time I was sitting speechless in the fromt seat of his car.

I stepped out, and he drove away.

I ran inside with my bags. Tears in my eyes. Nobody was home yet. Good. I went up to my room and started to unpack. It was late. An hour later, when I was done unpacking, my mom came home. "Maria, Maria are you home?" She yelled. "Yeah, I'm in my room. I'm really tired though so I'm going to go to bed. Good night mom." I yelled back. "Good night, sweetie."

The next morning, I woke up to the sound of my phone. Awe! I forgot to put it on silent last night. It was Trevor. He sent me a text. This is what it said:

    Maria.
I'm sorry about yesterday. I mean, I'm really sorry about yesterday. I know I've been acting strange around you, but I can't help it. Something major has happened, and it's eating away at me. If I stay around you any longer, it might rub off on you and kill you. I'm sorry, but I can't see you anymore. I'm leaving you for your own saftey. Goodbye forever, Maria Brandis.
    Trevor

He left. He really left. I couldn't let this happen. I threw on a pair of sweats and ran downstairs. It was on 7:00 am. If my mom asked, I was going for a morning jog. I didn't want her to get involved. I ran outside. I called Trevor. He didn't pick up. I tried calling again. No answer. I went to his house and knocked on the door 3 or 4 times. Nobody answered. I looked through the window, there was no furniture in the house. I texted him this:

    Trevor-
Please don't leave me. I love you.
    *Maria*

He never texted me back. I started to cry, right then, right now. I couldn't stop. Nothing could cheer me up. I wanted to die so badly now, so I could go to heaven and ask God why Trevor left me. He knew everything.
