• Reborn Chapter 4

    I woke up in a cold sweat again. My hands were shaking and my mind racing. I wished I could forget that stupid night, the night my life changed. I looked over to my right, Ren was still sleeping silently. I envied her for that, she could sleep. I sat up and let my feet dangle off the ground. I got up and slipped into a pair of boots and walked out of the tent. No one was outside, it was quiet and calm. I looked ahead, Talon's tent had a pale light coming out from under it. I went over to a log, a wolf pup walked over to me. Its mom looked up and then dropped her head, I picked the little guy up, he snuggled up on my lap.

    "Hey sweetie." I mumbled to it. "Why aren't you by your mommy." He looked up at me and let out a yelp. The mom trotted over and settled down by my feet, the pup jumped off and curled next to its mom. It was weird living with real wolves, there was an odd connection with us. We were so much like them, but then again we were so different. I don't know how much time passed when I was sitting next to the wolf, petting her. Quite a bit, but eventually I got up and walked over to Talon's tent.

    "Tal, its Sophia mind if I come in?" I asked.

    "Yeah." I walked in, and he put a piece of paper in the book he was reading, and closed it.

    "Couldn't sleep again?" He asked. I nodded and walked over to me. "Same here." He sat down on his bed and signaled me over. I sat next to him. "What was the dream about?"

    "Just remembering the night." I sighed. "I killed my family." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close to him. I leaned against his shoulder. "You know, you have two sides."

    "Yeah I know." He said. "The hard cold one, and then the big softy few see."

    "Yep, me and the wolves I'm guessing." I said. He chuckled.

    "You are quite good at the guessing game you know." He kissed my cheek. I felt safe with Talon, its been a while since I felt like this. Safe and warm, it was the best feeling I felt in a while. We must of fell asleep, I woke up on in his arms, I slept through the night, no bad dreams. He was sleeping soundly next to me. I yawned and drifted back into sleep, still tired.

    "Talon wake up!" Ren yelled into the tent. "Hey Sophia."

    "Alright I'm up." He moved careful from behind me, trying not to disturb my sleep. "Go back to sleep." He whispered kissing my forehead. He got dressed and then left the tent. I woke up fully a little while later and walked out, it was raining today. I saw Talon playing with the wolf pups, while there parents relaxed.

    I walked over to them and sat down. The pup that was cuddling with me last night trotted over to me. I played with him, a few more joined us, soon enough I had all the pups climbing over me. Talon laughed and got up, brushing the dirt that was dry off.

    "Have fun." He said. I smiled and nodded and then went back to playing with the pups. Talon went over to talk to Ryan and Greg, they laughed. Boy time I'm guessing. Ren came over by me, sitting down next to me, picking up on of the pups and placing it in her lap.

    "What happened between you and Talon last night?" She asked in a low whisper. I looked at her suddenly. "Why were you in his tent Sophia, answer me."

    "I had a bad dream and he comforted me, we must of fell asleep together I swear." I said, she shook her head. "What. Is it wrong for me and Talon to get close."

    "No, its just." She stopped and looked at me. "You know what its nothing, really just keep going I don't care." She left and I was confused. She loved Talon like a brother, that much I knew, did she think I would hurt him. She was talking to Eric, he looked over at me and shook his head.

    "Why is it so wrong to love." I mumbled to one of the pups, it just looked at me with its green eyes and yelped. "I'm with you there."

    "Whats up sulky?" A guy with wild dirty blond hair asked. I looked at him. "Right you want introductions don't you, I'm Jack, Talon's brother." I thought he looked familiar. He had the same face structure.

    "Just thinking." I said playing with one of the pups.

    "You know, if its any consideration, I don't mind you dating my brother, he needs someone like you."

    "Thanks." I said. He studied me for a moment.

    "I think I know why he chose you." He said, I looked at him. "You remind him of someone, a girl that he loved."

    "Loved?" Jack sighed.

    "That was a long time ago, he killed her, he changed and couldn't control hisself." I understood why he didn't want to get close, not cause he is stubborn and cold, cause he is scared, thinking that if he gets close to anyone, they will get hurt. I knew that feeling. "You ok?"

    "Just thinking again." I mumbled. "We have a lot in common." Jack nodded.

    "Don't give up on him, I want him to be happy again. Having glumy Gus as your brother isn't as fun as you think." I chuckled. "I'm with you two on this and ignore what ever anyone else says, only you know what is right and wrong."

    "But, everyone says is wrong for us."

    "What do you feel?" His question struck me. I thought of the answer, nothing felt wrong about it, nothing in the world. It felt just right, like it was meant to be.

    "I feel like there is nothing wrong about it." I answered.

    "Then nothing is wrong." Jack got up. "But if you may excuse me, I have a brother to tackle." He smiled and got up, looking over at Talon. He smiled and ran at him, tackling him, and starting a small battle between the brothers.

    Jack's words, struck me, my answer did. There was nothing wrong with how I was feeling and I knew it. Talon knew it, even Jack. But then if it felt so right, why was it so wrong?
