I'm innocent. I'm just walking one day. But suddenly, it's not that way.
Rain. It's water. Just harmless drops of water. No. That is wrong.
"Rain...?" A little girl looked up in the rain. It had just begun, and she was still outside. Her ragged pants, shirt, and hat made it obvious that she lived on the streets,"Hello. Are you lost?" A man approached the little girl. The girl stepped back. "No. I'm fine, thank you." The man smirked. "Well, I was just wondering if you wanted to play with my son here." A little boy peeked out from behind the man, holding a small umbrella that fit his hand. "Oh.. Okay then.." I know what your thinking. He's a bad guy, this is bad, she shouldn't of done that. But no, the man was harmless. So was the boy.
"I'm Isaac." The boy took out his hand to shake the girls hand. They were in a playroom at the mans house. "I.. I'm Beatriz. Call me Bea. Is this your house?" Isaac's smile fell. "Yes.. He is not my father though. He adopted me, and said he would find someone kind enough to come and play a few times a week..." You might be wondering. How old are these kids? Their only about six or eight. "I will." Isaac looked at Bea "Why?" "I don't have a family either. I live on streets and people give me food and shelter because they feel pity on me." "Pity?" Bea looked at Isaac, as though he was stupid. "Pity is not good. Meaning, that they feel sorry for you, like your unfortunate. I don't like it. But it has its advantages." Bea looked to the window, watching the rain pour. Isaac had a reply ready. "Live with us then!" Bea looked... depressed. "You do not want that. I'm a poor pitiful child according to the towns folks. I cannot go to school. I cannot eat properly. I don't have anything sanitary." Bea had clearly confused Isaac with the long words. "You can go to school! You seem smarter then me!" "Smarter than I." Bea sharply corrected. "My, my.. Got a sharp little mind don't you?" Bea glared at the man. "I am little of course, but must you insult me like that?" He laughed. "No no no.. I mean. We will take you in if you'd like." Bea was surprised this time. "You..You mean it? Of course!" Bea turned to Isaac. "I thought you were lying." Bea turned again to the man. "May I call you father?" "Of course, of course." Nothing harmless. Of course.
It was still pouring the next day. "Time for school, Isaac!" "Yep!" Isaac called. "Whoa.. Your fast." Bea was standing at the door already, in her uniform. "Don't.. stare." Bea was blushing, for she had never worn a skirt. "Whens your birthday? How old?" "My birth certificate says January 7." "Now now, enough chatter, lets go to school. Get in the car, now."
Bea, was not used to these things, but was very quick to learn how to use them. "How was showering?" "Isaac!" "Quite refreshing, actually." "No troubles?" "None at all." "We're here.." The man, James, sounded weary. "Bye, Dad!" "Bye, Father." Bea bowed, and jogged into school, everything fresh and new.
"Good morning, my name is Beatriz Dela Cruz." "Good morning, Beatriz!" "Take a seat beside Isaac, please. Isaac, please wav- Ah.. Do you know each other?" Bea had already taken her seat, and Isaac had shown no interest. "Yesterday." "Ah good. Take out your drawing books, and sketch your most treasured memory." Everyone followed command. Everyone drew something like Christmas, or their families, the day they were born, a birthday. Everyone. Everyone, but Bea. "Ah, Bea. What do we have here?" Mrs. Morani picked up her sketch book, and took a long stare at it. "It's not complete yet." Bea replied bluntly. "When did this happen? As in, when did this become your favorite memory?" Bea looked down at her table. "I don't remember anything of my past. Just many adults saying, "Look at that pitiful child." Or anything in particular related to that. But.. when I think very hard and focus, I get this image in my head, of me and a lady, sitting on a bench." Bea pointed to the bench in the picture, that was resting on a porch of a house. It was a picture of that, in a meadow with a sunset. "Leave this class. Come with me." "Pardon?" "You aren't in trouble." Bea reluctantly took Mrs. Morani's hand, and the walked to the principals office, sketchbook in hand. "This child is gifted. Please, allow her to skip to grade 4." "Pardon?!" "Yes, well, she must take the test."
Before she knew it, Bea was in the fourth grade class, still above them by plenty. "The Earth is made of what layers?" No one raised their hands, but Bea. "The core, mantle, and crust." Once more, she was sent higher up. To 6th grade, the final grade at Randolph Elementary. "This is Beatriz Dela Cruz. She is seven years old, and has skipped several grades." "Hello, my name is Beatriz Dela Cruz and I am pleased to be a part of the class." The teacher clapped her hands adoringly. "What manners! Take a seat wherever." No one looked pleased at her arrival.
"GRADE SIX?!" "Yes, father. Grade six." James paced. "Your only 7...!" "I am quite aware of that.." "Nine plus 3 times 12?" Immediately, Bea replied, "144. Challenge me a little." James shook his head. "So ... smart.." Bea looked at her adoptive father, and sighed. "Isaac is not very educated, and is only average. I'm sure that is all you could ask for, however, I am willing to tutor him. However I will not tolerate his attitude." James looked taken aback. "Okay." "I will walk, and take Isaac with me. Prepare him a cup of cocoa and for myself, a cup of tea. That is, when we arrive, understand?" "Yes..." "Isaac, come. Let's take a walk.." "Oh-kay~!"
"It's beautiful.." "What do you mean?" Halfway through the walk, the rain began to clear just a little, and it was spitting, no longer raining. "It feels good. Ah..!" Bea had fallen, as Isaac had accidentally tripped her. "Sorry sorry! Are you okay?" "Y..Yeah..." Bea felt a pang in her heart, and looked away. Her heart beat quickly. "Let's go back.." "Yeah, sure." "Let's take a walk and talk like this everyday, okay..?" Bea asked quietly. "Sure. Of course!"
Thus their arrival, the cocoa and tea were giving. "Bea... I like you. More than sister-brother relation.." "So.. So blunt!" Bea stuttered, blushing deeply. "Please, answer, Bea. I'm trying my best to be as smart, and it's working a little but.." "I do too okay?" They hugged, a little more than friendly. But perhaps they would end up more? "I wish... we could grow older quickly.." "What?" "I want to be as smart as you. Good as you." "You don't have to be." Bea pecked him on the cheek, and went upstairs. "I wish..." And suddenly, a flash of light appeared through the whole house, and nothing was seen....

- Hahaha well. It is most likely, could be confusing. The format I tried to write it in, was as though coming from someone in the house or someone who is a creeper :3
