• CHAPTER 1
“Look who’s acting like a couple now, haha” Steph can never just let it go. “You know what, I need a smoke, who has one?” That’d be me, never got around to quitting. “You know I don’t smoke.” Ah Mitchell the pure, always wondering how long that’ll last in a world of no law.
“Looks like we need to hit up a store to get some, anything else on our grocery list?” Never thought I’d say that. Steph “Um... Well I would really like some new pencils, or at least led I’m almost out. Well that and we need batteries unless we plan to live in the dark,” *shudder* (God I hate the dark) “ and Richie doesn’t seem to fond of that idea.” Mitchell “HA the fearless leaders scawed of da dawk?” What’d I tell you!”Smart-a**, if you don’t shut up, I’ll have to kick your a**!”I’ll do it to.
“Okay, okay let’s get going though it’ll take a while to get there.” Thank you Steph
Well your probably wondering who, what, when, where, and why. Right? Here let me shed some light on your plane of existence. I’m Richie Blakeman. I’m sixteen, I was born in Kansas City, Mo. Doesn’t matter to whom because they’re dead now. My two friends are Stephanie Richworth and Mitchell Masters. Stephanie, or steph for short (depends on my mood) is eighteen, and one of my best friends in all the world (previously three strong now two). Mitchell, or Mitch-man (when I wanna piss him off) is sixteen to. He happens to be the class clown in most cases, but he’s always there for you if your in a pinch.
What happened was that a weird virus out break hit New York, and spread like wildfire. Unfortunately that’s not even the worst part, the s**t really hit the fan when the victims of this extremely lethal rash started getting up and attacking people.
HAHA sounds like a video game, huh? Well it’s not, and there’s nothing we can do but survive. We are the immune survivors. I mean don’t get me wrong that damn rash took a good chunk of the 6.4 billion people on the planet, but there’s billions still kicking. The real danger is the damn walkers as we refer to them. They can’t run or talk, or think in my opinion, but if they bite you or scratch you, It’s good bye cruel world. Or if your with us... Hello Buck-shot.
Well back to the matter at hand, our little group is currently on a quest to recruit. You see my girlfriend has a few friends with her in Claycomo so we keep in touch by cell phone. Anyway after the evil zombie freaks started turning my life into a bad video game cut scene I called her and told her to hole up somewhere so she and a few friends did just that, thank god.

Luckily, me and Steph can drive otherwise this would end up being a major s**t storm. I take my beat up old mustang and Steph drives her parents mini-van. Unfortunately Mitchell usually rides with me, he really likes my car for some reason.
Well, I guess as a matter of things yet to be told, how I came into this mix up is probably pretty high up on that list, huh? Well let me explain. The three of us were at Mitchell’s house chilling in his basement. All of a sudden we heard a huge crash and his mom’s screaming. We told Steph to stay downstairs and went up to look. When we got up there the living rooms sliding glass door was shattered and there was blood all over the place. As you can imagine this scared the ever loving squirrel s**t out of us, but now when I think back on it, that was the chill part. The really scary s**t hadn’t even happened yet!
So of course seeing blood and having heard screams we wanted to know where the ******** his mom was, so we went to look. They say the last place you look is where it is, well in this case it was the first. The two of us ran into the kitchen to look and sure enough we found Waldo. Vikey, Mitchell’s mom, was on the ground bleeding and trying to scream but only a gurgling sound came out on account of the a**-hole eating her throat. He was on top of her and chewing a big bite of la vikey, blood running down his face and a deep red all over the carpet, I grabbed a hot pan off the stove and seared that ******** nasty face, needless to say he didn’t like that all to much. He got off the floor and turned to us standing around 6'1'’. I hadn’t noticed until now but this dude only had half an arm, I mean full length but something was a chewing at it. I brushed off that sight and went back at ‘im with my trusty pan, I hit the guy upside the head so hard that I heard the loud crack of skull, then just for good measure, seeing as that blow dropped him, I turned the pan on its side and went to town on his face. By the time Steph walked in and screamed in shock I was beating mush and Mitchell was holding his almost dead mom.
“What the hell happened?” Steph asked. Neither of us could talk. After a few minutes it was dead quiet and I noticed vikey wasn’t breathing anymore. “Oh my god, Mitch is your mom okay?” I knew she wasn’t but needed to ask anyway. I looked over and noticed he was crying. “No, she’s not all ******** right! She’s dead you dumb a**!” Mitchell was yelling now, “What the ******** was that crazy a**-holes problem! Why the hell did he break in and kill my mom!”. “Hey I’ll call 911" my best idea yet. I pulled out my phone and dialed 9-1-1, the operator picked up “Hello 911 what is your emergency?”
“Uh, hi my names Richard Blakeman, uh some guy broke into the house I’m at and killed my friends mom”
    “What happened to the attacker?”
“I killed him with a frying pan. He was eating her throat.”

“Evacuate the house immediately, get as far away from the corpses as possible, there is an infection going around transferred by bite, scratch, and blood. The recently deceased are getting up and attacking others.”
“What the hell do you mean getting up and attacking others?!”
    *click*
“What the ********, he hung up on me!”
“What did he say?” Steph asked. “Basically to get the ******** out of here.”
“Well I have my van, and you have your car let’s grab our s**t and go.”
“What about my mom?” Mitch sounded dead quiet now.
“I’m really sorry man but we need to go, she’s dead and that’s bad news, so let’s get the hell outa here.” I said quietly. “You heard me yell into the phone, ******** on the other end said dead people are getting up and killing others.”
    “Is that possible?” Steph asked.
“I don’t know, but if we don’t leave soon well find out” I said, slightly scared to realize that what I said was true.
“Lets go then, hurry up Mitchell we need to get the ******** outta here!” Steph yelled. Mitchell let go of his mom’s corpse and got up to go with us without saying anything. He was covered in her blood because of how close he was to her. We went downstairs and grabbed our stuff some smokes and soda then took off through the garage door down there. I lit a cigarette when we got outside I had blood all over me to. Steph went to the van and, I went to my car with Mitchell, and we took off. Steph called and said we were gonna go to her place in North Kansas City, because it was vacant. While we were driving I called up my girlfriend to see if she was okay.
    *ring..... ring....*
    “Hello?”
    “Hey babe it’s me.”
“Richie, oh my god are you okay?”
“Just a little shook up, but all in all I’m good, how about you?”
“Thank god, I was so worried. I was watching T.v and it said that people in Mitchell’s area were getting attacked, and I tried to call you but you didn’t answer. I’m alright now, I got home and locked the doors and windows, just after I heard about the attacking.”
“Good stay there and if you can get your friends and family holed up there I’ll be there soon to pick you and whoever else up, okay?”
“Okay I will, I love you Richie.”
“I love you to Kay, see you soon.”
    “Alright, bye”
    “Bye.”

    “Is she alright?” Mitchell asked.
“Ya, man she fine, we’ll go get her after we get supplies.”
After that we drove in silence.

    Chapter 2
After we got to Steph’s house we locked up and rested for a few, once everyone calmed down we made a plan.
“We should go to a store and get some grub, you know like cans and stuff so it don’t go bad and what not” I suggested. “We’ll have to keep it in the van though, cause I don’t have much space in my car to hold much of anything.”
“Alright what to we do if we get attacked?” Mitchell asked.
“Well for right now grab something from here to defend yourself with, we’ll just have to ‘borrow’ some guns soon.” I said.
“Hey there’s a gun store off of armor road! Uh Denny’s Guns I believe it’s called, we can go there.” Steph said happily.
“Alright now were talking, after were armed and stocked we’ll go pick up Kay, and whoever else is there.”
    “Okay, let’s get started.”
We left the house and began our little quest. And now that takes us back to the beginning where you first joined us, well not really that didn’t happen for another 3 hours, but you know what I mean. Once we got to our destination (or Wal-mart as some say) we found out noone was there nor had I seen anymore then a few people all day. The most we had seen was on our way to Steph’s house, and it was an awful car crash with a bunch of walkers tearing at the not-quit-dead-yet-victims. Luckily we had already gone and armed ourselves at Denny’s Guns. I have a 12 gauge pump, and two 9mm’s at my hips just in case. Steph’s got a 22, and a small pistol, and Mitchell was like a little kid in a candy store, he got a 30-30, a set of magnums, and a desert eagle.
We went into Wal-mart armed to the teeth and ready to fight for our canned ravioli. There was nothing moving at the entrance but we kept together and quiet just in case, in retrospect a good plan. We each grabbed a cart and started walking to the non-perishable items. We were almost there when a walker came out from behind a greetings card rack, it yelled and I heard a loud bang, and it’s face just kinda dissolved into liquid and chunks all over the card rack. I turned to see who shot it and Mitchell had a magnum pointed in the direction and said “wish I could’ve done that to the ******** who got my mom.”

We were a lot more cautious and quiet after that. After we got the food, drinks, and snacks we went and got flashlight batteries and led for Steph’s drawing stuff. “Hey Steph, go grab some smokes while we load the van.”
    “Okay, I’ll be right there”
Me and Mitchell went and loaded up the van with all the stuff we got. We were putting away the three carts when we heard, *BAM BAM BAM*
“What the ******** was that?” I asked knowing I’d have to look to get an answer. We went running into the store and found Steph still picking packs of cigarettes.
“What’s wrong guys you look like you saw a ghost, or in our case zombie.” She was joking! We were scared s**t-less and shes joking around. *BAM*
“What the ******** IS that?” I asked them.
Steph grabbed everything and we went outside to the cars.
We almost just got in and took off, but we heard someone start yelling.
“HELP, HELP ME THERE TRYING TO KILL ME ! HELP!”
It was coming from the other side of the store. We ran over and saw a woman trying to keep from 5 walkers, she was on a truck swinging the butt of a rifle like a club at them. She saw us and started to yell again. “Help me, please!” We went closer and Mitchell and Steph pulled there rifles and took aim. I went a little closer and started to yell to get there attention away from the woman on the truck so she could get away. “Hey, over here, come on come get me!” they instantly turned and Mitchell and Steph fired their guns. One got slugged in the temple and it’s brains got blown out the side of it’s head and onto the pretty blue truck. Another was hit in the leg and went down instantly. The third and forth were hit in the chest and just hit the floor dead, and the last one didnt get hit in the barrage and was coming at me when the lady on the truck jumped down and bashed it’s skull in.
We regrouped away from the dead undead. “Are you okay?” I asked looking her up and down.
“Yeah I’m fine, thank you all” she only looked to be eighteenish now that I could really see her.
“It’s all good, glad we could help. I’m Richie and these are my friends Steph and Mitchell”
“I’m Kristy, nice to meet you guys.”
“Were on our way to pick up some other people if you would like to join?”
“Sure I just came to get some supplies so I could get outa here.”
“Cool were heading to Claycomo, so let’s get a move on.”
“Alright I’ll follow you guys in my truck.”
    “Okay.”
We each got into our respective vehicles and left the parking lot to start getting there. Once we were on the highway I started talking to Mitchell. “Hey man great shot back there”

“Thanks, my uncle used to take me hunting all the time until a few years back.”
“Oh yeah that was the one who got that rash a couple weeks ago, huh?”
    “Yep that was him.”
“Bad break man, hey just a second I’m gonna call Kay and let her know were on our way.”
    *ring......ring......ring.*
    “Hello?”
“Hey it’s me were almost there I’ll see you in just a minute, you okay?”
“Ya, I’m fine. We had one of my crazy a** neighbors trying to break in but he couldn’t open the door and just ended up giving up I think. The weird part was that when I asked what the ******** he thought he was doing he didn’t say anything he just kept trying the door.”
“I want you to stay away from him and keep the door locked, okay?”
    “Alright.”
“Is anyone in the house with you?”
“Just Jerry he was in his room when I got here I guess he was sleeping.”
“Put him on the phone please.”
    “Okay.”
I could hear her talking to him through the phone. Jerry is her twin brother, and my other best friend.
“Hey man, was up?” He always starts a conversation like that.
“Not much, me and a couple other people are coming to pick you guys up, just wanted to say don’t let anyone in and please for the love of god don’t let Kay get hurt.”
“Alright, alright, god if I didn’t know you’d kick my a** I’d call you a worried little girl, man you sure can get irritating, but okay, see you in a few then, peace out man”
    “Thanks, peace out.”
    “Hello?” back to Kay.
    “Hey, I’m here”
“M’kay, I love you, can’t wait to see you, get here quick okay?”
“Okay, I love you to, bye.”
    “Bye.”
We had about a 10 minute drive in silence and the we pulled up to Kay’s house. The door was locked so I knocked and Jerry answered.

“Hey man, let’s get all of you in here real quick were almost ready to go.” I flagged everyone in so we could chill for a few and then we locked the door again. I didn’t say anything to anyone and just went upstairs to Kay’s room. Once I got up there, I saw she was somewhere else so I got the bright idea to go and hide in her closet to scare her. After waiting a short time she walked in, “Richie? Are you in here?”
I jumped out and yelled at her. She jumped and threw a book at me and hit me in the head with it. The last thing I heard was a sickening thud then everything went black.

    Chapter 3
When I woke up I was on Kay’s floor and she was knelt down next to me crying. Then next thing I noticed was that she was almost completely naked. “Hey don’t cry what’s wrong?” I asked her. She looked up at me and I saw her eyes were wet and red. “Your such a d**k you know that?” she asked me.
    “Yeah, I sure do.”
“Why would you hide in there and do that?”
    “I was bored.”
“You could have checked the shower and found me.” That explains the nakedness.
“Or I could have stayed downstairs and hung out with Jerry?” She kissed me and I stood up feeling dizzy but stable.
“Well since you’re here now I simply can’t let you leave” she said with a sly smirk to her face, “oh really now?” I asked, “really” just the reply I had wanted. I picked her up off her bare feet and we kissed again, then I set her down and she dressed, and packed, and we headed downstairs.
When we got down there the two of us were holding hands and putting all the stuff in the van and truck (sure glad we have Kristy). Jerry made the inevitable joke of how my face looked like I’d had it used as a punching bag, and gave his sister a pat on the back. After what seemed like a crash course to insanity we were ready to take off and be anywhere those walker pricks weren’t. We were just about to ‘take leave’ when yet again we found an interfering force of........ that’s right, you guessed it, zombies. These guys aren’t ninja’s that’s for damn sure, in fact the general radius of a dip s**t I can hear you, is about twenty to thirty feet wide.

I have to say though opening a door and having three try to grab you is another one of those, OH MY TITS, moments. We were one our way to the door having rested, and I opened it, and there they were. They almost looked more like animals than deceased, and reanimated human corpses, and let me tell you that smell would make you wanna puke until your balls came out. The first one was at my arm pulling me and the rest were trying to reach for me. I was trying to pull away when I heard a gun shot and the one who had a hold of me as well as the one immediately behind him flew backwards. They were getting of the ground when we opened fire, blowing of some steam on an evil spawn of Satan was an amazing stress reliever to my surprise. As soon as the third ******** went and regained his balance, Mitch took hi trusty mag and blew a bowl of spaghetti out the side of his head and all over the lawn.
“Well there you go, at least it’s mulch haha.” Jerry said laughing. Kay smacked him in the head and yelled “******** off!” then came and hugged me.
“Damn Kay, being a little brutal, huh?” I asked sarcastically.
“You know what, I’m so sick of all the crap you two pull.”
“Alright I’ll be good, but only for you.”
    “I love you.”
    “I know.”
Soon after we hit the road. We were in our way to find a few others then get the ******** out of this town. I grabbed my phone and began to make a few calls. The first I made was to my friend ben, I ended up talking to his answering machine.
“Hi this is Ben, leave a message at the beep.”
    *Beep*.
“Hey bro, this is Richie, I just wanted to check on you and see if you were okay. Give me a call when you get this message, bye.”
After I hung up, I called the next one.
    *ring.......ring...*
“Hey man, I’m so happy you called bro.”
“Cody, man you don’t sound so hot what’s up man?”
“Dude this crazy ********, broke into my house a while ago.”
“So what happened to him? Are you okay?”
“Well I threw that a**-hole off the balcony, I think he’s dead. Anyway while I was trying to fight him, he bit me, that crazy ******** bit me! I got the bleeding to stop and wrapped it up in a ace bandage.”
“Well yeah, these a**-holes tend to do that.”
“I guess that’s true. Anyway I guess now I need saving, so get the hell over here.”
“I really can’t believe the circumstances
