"Everything will be fine, they will treat you well, and you will be adopted in no time!" Thats what they all said, At age six, me and my sister Amy were escorted to a near by Orphanage, After the preceding events that I'm sure some of you are familiar with. If not, read my other submission. "Burning Souls..." As the police cruiser slowed to a stop, starring at this place made me cry. The thought of losing the mirage that was family, caused me too start balling. Everything i held dear, this place was home for those without them. Walking towards the crooked and cracked steps of the penitentiary that was to be my home. As i walked in the decrepit door way, there was no laughter, no music, no smells of food being prepared, no anything but a slow chill inching up my spine... Within an hour i was in my "Room", more like a cell. Later on that month... I was introduced to something so horrible and disgusting, that the thought of it makes men who experienced it and lived through it cry... The "Adoption Race" we are pit against each other to run and impress the family coming to pick a child. You hear the call "A family thinking of adopting has come, all children please enter the foyer. That is all." That message is the same to an orphan as Jesus' words were to his disciples. As you hear it, you sprint into the hallway, knocking over other children, being pushed, being knocked down to the floor and ran on top of... Each time at least one person would suffer a bad injury, broken ribs, shattered arm, maybe even a cracked skull... But even worse once a week, usually you would have on fatality simply trying to be first. Even worse, foul play wasn't uncommon. Sometimes the really disturbed children would poison, or simply execute the funniest, smartest, fastest, or best-looking child, it did not matter what race or gender. They would be killed by other orphans. In this place of treason and lies, no one really has an identity. We were blank, our minds tortured by our histories, or simply so absorbed by the need to be adopted that they lost themselves. The years passed slowly, constantly losing friends, and enemies in the savage race that was adoption. Or as we called it "Our only shot at life". At the age of 14 everything i loved and cared for was dead. My sister, dog, family, friends, allies, and my first orphan sis (A family member you decide to pretend to be in a family with inside of an orphanage, To help lessen the pain of having no one.). After everything my heart became cold, It was too late for me. At four-teen comes a sad realization... You lost your chance, you have a slim to none chance of being adopted.
Without friends and without a family, my only real career choice i could make was the army. I am enlisted and will start service May 22nd 2013. At this age you become the leader of your own little group of younger children. I had the luck of leading "Jimmy Derrish" A psychopathic, murderous, and most of all suicidal nine year old boy... He has stabbed me, shot me, poisoned my food, set my computer to catch fire... Everything he could to try to rid me of my life. Even worse when he decides to take a jump of the roof i have to stop him.
So this became my life. Being hurt, and saving demon children's life's. Until something, almost fairy tale like happened. But thats for later...
