• It was a cold, windy, winter morning. I was in the 2005 Ford Mustang. It was a nice dark blue color. The same color as Jessica's eyes. "C'mon short stuff. We gotta go." Jessica yelled from the old beat up Chevy. I didn't want to leave the safe comfort of my sanctuary but for only a little while. We would be gone all month.
    Jessica slowly got out of the SUV and opened the mustang's door. "Shut the door! You're letting the heat out!!" I yelled grabbing the handle. She clamped her hand around mine so I couldn't move it. "I'm your big cousin. If anything scares you, tries to hurt you, whatever, I'll be there." She smiled a warm smile and closed my door. Is she really going to let me stay here by myself? I thought to myself.
    She came around the otherside and turned off the car. I should've known as much. She went back to myside and jerked me out of the safe little Mustang and threw me into the SUV. "Why did you do that?! I don't want to go to this, "Surprise" destination!" I yelled as she floored it. (Yes I was not wearing my seatbelt.) "Y'know, for a 12 year old you're really demanding." she sighed. "And put your seatbelt on. If you die, I get blamed." I looked at her and huffed. "Fine. " was all I said the rest of the three and a half hours we were on the road before a pit stop at a gas station.
    "Go get us some snack food. We'll be on the road a lot." she gave me a thirty. I looked at it, then thought, What if I buy some snack and save the rest for Kingdom Hearts that was the biggest mistake of my life!
    I paid for the food I scavenged for went back out to the "bus". "Here's the food, now can we go to Game Stop?!" I asked with excitement. "Um... sure whatever. Go for it." we get to Game Stop and I'm just going through every game shelf and I found it... The most beautiful game case I've ever seen! I picked it up and rushed to the register. "That's $24.69." Marc I think was the guy at the registers name. I ran back in the SUV and plugged in the PS2 and tarted to play Kingdom Hearts in the back seat.
    I was supposed to be lookout for cars but I was too busy playing the game. Two hours had gone by and I was still going strong in the Deep Jungle. "I'm gettign over, look and see if it's clear." Jessica motioned me to the window. "Yeah it's fine." I said glancing out. BOOM! We got hit by an 18 wheeler and Jessica was squished. I had a few cuts and one really deep wound.
    "Jessica!" I yelled when I saw it coming. Everything in the back was okay. Nothing was broken but my heart. When I got to the hospital they told me right away she was going into shock and she might not make it. I burst out in tears when I heard the awful news. When she came out of the OR, I ran to her bedside. "Jessica, you have to make it! You said you would always be there for me! What about your birthday soon?! A-and mine!? Please Jessica don't go!!" I yelled through my tears. The only thing she said before her passing was, "I will always be with you in your heart. I am the Kingdom in your heart. So when you're lost, turn to your heart and I'll show you the way." she kissed my forehead and passed smiling. She was only 17.
    I still really miss her and I am crying now as we speak.
