I am standing in a forest, amidst trees whose outlines I have trouble discerning, and whose tops I cannot see. What I assume is moonlight turns my surroundings into dark purples, blues, and shades of gray. The sky is invisible to me, perhaps it is because I cannot move my head, I cannot move myself, oddly I do not want to.
I am transfixed. A silhouette stands before me in the night shadow of a tree trunk. It seems half a mile away, and still is ten feet in front of me. I see the outline of a tall man. There are no features to be seen, no identifying marks, nothing to make him seem human but for his outline. He is a void, a black shape which sucks the light from the air. He extends his arm towards me, offering me something hidden in his hand.
I wake up screaming, unexplained terror pulling at every fiber of my being.
- Title: A Muddled Premonition
- Artist: Surudain
- Description: This is a dream I had when I was around five or six. It is not a work of fiction, I remember it vividly. It has come to mind more and more often in the past years, and I feel a growing tension connected to it.
