Religion
Religion; ideas ready-made.
A bundle of laws,
Blueprints of life --
A guide from birth
To graveyard.
The pagans hiss;
Monks roar their sermons;
The crowd follows
Safest, they choose.
Mask the unknown
With a veil of tales;
Ignore the doubts
And live, reassured.
Blinded by faith
It is secure
‘Till truth come a-gazing --
And lo, curtains open.
Making new covers
Like closing doors
Run away;
Leave facts behind.
Preachers preach,
Prayers pray;
It comforts.
Religion keeps you safe.

- The second stanza confused me but otherwise it was an interesting poem.
