Water starts to soak my cheeks
Now shaken, feeling weak.
I try to move, A sudden halt!
"I hate you! You disease! It’s all your fault!
How could she beat you, all 65?
You had her out-numbered; you roses caused her to die!"
Then a crash and a cry out loud.
The beat of my heart is the only sound.
Lean against an oak, now a weeping willow.
Cling to it tight, feels soft as a pillow.
Soft compared to life, and how hard it is.
I scream! I shout!
"From the roots I'll rip you out!
Someday we'll defeat you, of that I have no doubt"
I get cut from the thorns as I finally collapse on the ground.
If only, if only, a cure had been found.
My cries reduces to a whisper, still my tone remains strong and bold.
"Her life was one that you controlled.
You didn’t give her a chance to ever grow old.
Some day, some way you'll reach your end.
Then you'll never take another mother, brother, sister or friend"
