A shudder of pain,
On hour of strain,
I’m working hard, you see.
To live my life cool,
Follow every last rule,
But your anger is killing me.
Your nails are like talons, and never stay clean,
Your eyes are like ice, cold dark and mean.
Your touch gives me splinters,
You make me sick to the bone.
You won’t take the hinters
You won’t leave me alone.
Your big nose makes the Eiffel Tower seem small,
Your hair makes a rat seem clean.
Your horrible perfume makes my skin crawl.
You always make a scene,
Of everything.
You like to sit and watch the telly,
Or read, or knit, or scratch your belly.
And yes, you guessed it, never with me,
What have I got to do to be free?
Away from this nightmare I must run,
Back to the place where my life once begun.
I’ll find my mum there, I’m sure I will,
In the old warehouse at the top of the hill.
The warehouse would be warmer than my step-mum’s eyes,
And my mum will greet me with open arms.
My mum will forget about all the lies,
Cursed upon us.
It’s one of her few lonely charms.
Together we’ll forget dad and his wife,
We won’t talk about them our entire life.
What Love can’t say needs no words, after all,
They’d abandon me when the snow starts to fall.
Mum would never.
I reached the warehouse with tears down my face,
I knocked on the door’s moulding base.
No answer.
I searched for a note on the side of the door,
All around and on the floor.
Then I noticed the fire streaked wall,
And I knew she wasn’t there at all…
Let heaven await her, and grand-mother too.
I sit feeling guilty, knowing what I put her through.
My life crashed in on me, that very day.
Until, I decided to join her, and too passed away...

- You're gonna make me cry. Goodness, all your poems are so sad. I can't cry though, or the Koolade man will kill innocent and harmless little kittens. 5/5 though. I love it, but I can't cause it's so sad. D= *dies of confus-ed-ness*

- Thanks Doug =) And yes, you do know her. We're not gonna mention names though, okay? Our little secret. And yeah, it's actually the barn up near hers. Her mum worked at the stables there smile

- I really like this poem. It is sad, but the emotion is not too overwhelming. Good job. ^^
