Water somewhere seeping,
Eyes gone dry form weeping,
Fear is mine for keeping,
Below I hear the creeping.
Floorboards now are creaking,
Hold my tongue from speaking,
Heartbeat pace is peaking,
I sense the evil seeking.
In the darkness and in the night,
There are things that don't feel right.
Light that I once extinguished,
Now alight from dark distinguished.
Door once closed is now ajar,
Sleep once near is now so afar.
I wish that i were dreaming,
Instead of nightmare gleaming,
The sound below is streaming,
The scratching now is screaming.
My home I am regretting,
The dampness and the wetting,
The sun is always setting,
The fear of my bloodletting.
In the basement down below,
Fear of things I do not know.
spirit I had once dismissed,
face of death that I have kissed.
I feel faint, I should be sleeping,
But below i hear the creeping.
In the dark I am writing,
Of the fear of sighting,
The sense to run I'm fighting.
As I'm slipping far away,
Caused by fear that rules my day,
That turns the sunshine into gray,
And my sleeping into weeping,
From the nightmare of The Creeping.
