Threads

Everything in those few people;
All existence in that hand full of lives.

To me, all of you are the threads
That cradle me.
The thin and delicate strands
That I find myself clinging to.

The people I care for as much as family,
And even more truly.
The people I love by my own choice,
That I chose to spend my life with.

There are strings that I desperately reach for,
Though they slip out of my reach.
As threads are made of strings,
So too are you made simply of memories.

Strings will eventually snap…
And I worry, how will I do without?
Without my memories of you, you do not exist to me.
And all memories surely fade.
All the strings surely will snap.

Will I find feathers on my back
When that happens?
I know that I lack wings,
So I know that I cannot fly...
I wonder if I’ll fall
When the strings break?

Or will I find all of you, any of you,
There to catch me?
Tie the strings back together....

Well here's what i said last time:

"I dont really understand poems but this one was really interesting.
However it couldve been better with better chosen words. for example:
'will i find feathers on my back when that happens? i know that i lack wings..."
That line made me cringe. D;

Could be much better, but its still good. 4/5
