I sit in school the place I dread,
I slowly doze off to a better place.
Drab carpets and lectures swirl in my head.
And my stresses, worries and pain erase.
Come home to parents who restrict, restrain,
And push my poor soul from the brink t’he fray.
But I fade to sleep. And here I remain,
As I dream of happiness, and a better day.
Wake up in the morning, hope for the best,
But expect the worst, it is all the same.
Go to my classes and lay down to rest.
I’m merely a pawn In’the system’s cruel game
Forgetting knowledge, that I could be reaping,
At the end of the day, I’d rather be sleeping.

- Kind of a cliche subject matter, but nicely written nonetheless.

sestinas are very hard to do well and, knowing that, i think u did very well with this poem. you may want to work on staying away from cliches, not that there were a ton here.
