Less than Human

• Description: My ex has taken to treating me like a mutt. I guess it's my own fault, but my natural reactions make me act kind of wolfish at times, and I can't hlep it. It's something I've developed over time, and I'm not changing it for anything.
  
  I don't have a problem with it untill she tells people I've never even met that I think I'm a dog. That's not true. I just prefer not to call myself human, but never once did I say I thought I was a dog.

Today, I pondered a questin
One that's been on my mind
What happens to a person
When treated less than human?

What happens to a person
When they are sternly told
They are not allowed to sit
On the furniture in a house?

What happens to a person
When they are commanded
Not to eat with their hands
But put their face to the food?

What happens to a person
When they are bated out
Of a curled up sleeping position
With a piece of food?

What happens to a person
When they are kicked aside
Because they are in the way
Just like an unwanted dog?

What happens to a person
When they are reduced to nothing
Called a "stupid mutt"
And now something less than human?
