In light of these dark days, I mourn
War, poverty, disaster, evil no good can withstand
Even the stouthearted have fallen into depression
In a world of malice, cruelty, and aggression
We strive to retain what's pure
Politicians with their formaldehyde speeches aimed to spark the fire that shall set this world ablaze, with no regard toward what's morally and ethically right for our well-being.
And yet even in times of torment we continue waltzing about with our undeserved sense of self-righteousness and our smug grins of superiority over any and all who stand in our way
I merely ask why?

Very good, and true too! biggrin 4/5
I suggest making the stanzas/poem in general a bit shorter! Or! Making one of your Stanza's into multiple stanzas, thus shortening the length of the poem while making it more presentable and "pretty" to the eye! - Report As Spam
