Ah, welcome, one and all!
Tonight we shall be presenting you
A sad fate of lies and love, of toys twisted and fates sealed beyond your wildest imagination
A broken toy cast into the waving oceans, found by our traveling group not so long ago
He can only tell a tale that has been washed away by the tears of a lost shadow puppet, never able to be played with like how a real toy should be
Bound forever by the events that were etched into its own geared heart!
Oh, the woe, the burden held by a mere child’s toy!
Drop by and hear its tale tonight
Drop by and hear the tale of the Reve Roullie…
Found in the sand, rusted by time
It says nothing, only of what it knows
Come see the fun and the misery
Come hear the tale of the Reve Roullie
“Once a maiden, oh so peculiar
She was so fair, she was so beautiful
But she was no fairy tale princess
She made toys, she made creations
One was a shark that swam in darkness
Another was a doll with porcelain beauty
Last was a monster bound by string that could be seen in the night sky
Anyone at all could’ve simply loved her, but she refused to put down her fun
So she caught an eye of a bewitching man
Who sent her a lily of purity
‘Oh yes, it’s cruel. It is indeed cruel, but I would not stand to rejection.’
Was what he said as he used her toys to steal her soul from her mind
‘But I will fight, yes I will fight! I will fight to get my life back!
But if things do not go as planned, I need you to remember what had happened.’
I wish to be free of this misery
This burden of life which my creator bestowed
But as her dying wish I must keep telling the story that has never been told.”
It’s a travesty, being ripped away from one’s own mother
The sad destiny of the toymaker, made into puppet of shadows
Forever played by the one who loved her selfishly
She can never again have a heart, and he will always be amused
And all the while, the toy crab that has washed ashore
Will forever keep telling this tale over and over
This rusted dream, never to be awaken from, always to be an nightmare…
Whether you’re alone or if you’re returning, lost or have been found, drop by and hear its tale tonight
Drop by and hear the tale of the Reve Roullie...

Description:
This came to me one day in the shower. I was thinking about the story about the Reve Roullie, then thinking about how it would be in song form. Then the song "Dark Woods Circus" came into mind, and then this bit of poetry/song happened. :D All in the shower.

- Beautiful combination of the two, I must say.
