Fox Den
If home is where the heart is,
Then that is where you live.
There is no place that’s quite like it,
And no one will you give.
The same is true with animals,
You know they have a mind.
In a cave or in a hole,
They don’t want to leave behind.
Foxes live inside a den,
A hole inside a hill.
They play and sleep and eat within
This house at night they fill.
The human race could care quite more
Of more than just themselves.
But yet we go destroying homes
And using land as shelves.
Foxes are hunted for the
Beautiful fur they have.
For people think they look right nice
In skins they’d not been gave.
Their dens they use to hide from men
And live another day.
But since we have had nature paved
They cannot find their way.
How would you like your home to be
Removed from its right place,
Or taken over by something
You’ve not seen face to face?
That is how animals feel
When we try to expand,
And build up stores we do not need-
Desecrating their homeland
Highways don’t need to expand
Because of all the cars.
The nature we have left, untouched,
Should stay that way- unscarred.
If foxes were endangered,
I would go and then,
Find some foxes without homes
And make my house their den.
