A box full of string
reminds you of things left undone.
An empty closet
tells you of what is gone.
A sky full of clouds
suggests you should pay attention
to things you never noticed before.
A letter left unopened
answers none of your questions.
A silent, empty room
shrieks to be filled with life.
A smile only half meant for you
whispers a secret
you don't want to listen to.
A staircase without creaky steps
says nothing at all.
An untied shoelace
tells of what is to come.
An unread, dust-laden book
cries out to you
when there is nothing left for it to say.
