As we grow older –
We are ever more constrained –
In the chains of responsibility –
That shackles us firmly to reality.
Unable to let go –
Unable to imagine –
And dreams of a brighter future disregarded, forgotten.
We trade our innocence for bitter Knowledge –
That we cannot help but acknowledge as bitter Truth.
We form shields to protect us from the screaming monsters –
But our Guardian Angels also kept at length.
Any cry for freedom –
Any longing for wildness –
Are quickly silenced by our conscious discipline.
And happy we are –
Even content, yes,
In our continued –
Perhaps even welcomed –
Imprisonment.
We are all of us –
Only held back by ourselves.

The last line is to true but if you smart enough to know that you are more than capable of changing it
