• Fear.
It envelopes your senses, traps your limbs to your sides and tranquilizes your brain until your eyes open wide, your pupils turn white, and your instincts take over.
It sips the life from your body, drinks the soul from your heart, steals the breath from your lungs until you can't stop laughing, for fear of losing yourself in the dark.
This constant drip of water on the floor meant for only you to slip in. The silent slamming of a hammer on the cold, hard surface of your mind.
The unstoppable force meets the immovable object and through chaos untold, fear grabs your hand. You follow the hand. I break its wrist.
You fling open the closet and fear is no more.

No dancing skeletons in my closet...
I fling the door wide open.
