In the dark a man lays.
Has no memory of the day.
He sits up and shakes his head,
Notices he's not in bed.
Looks around with nothing in sight,
Except for a far off light.
"What could this light be?
The only way out for me?
Anything could be better than here.
But death I really do fear.
What if I have already died?"
His head hurt and mind was fried.
"Could the light to heaven lead?"
An answer he truly did need.
"What if I follow the dark?
Will that give my life spark?
Or would that lead to hell?
Purgatory is bad as well."
After thinking he was fine.
"God has decided it's my time."
He follows the light's path.
As he relived, the man laughed.
Such a great life, he had lead.
"So strange to think I'm dead.
Goodbye kids. Goodbye wife.
Goodbye to my whole life."
He wiped away a small tear.
He would face his greatest fear.
As the light came, a noise was great.
He approached to meet his fate.
Then suddenly with such great pain,
The man was hit by a train.
