2026: Ah yes, that new year smell

Just like the previous years, we have perks set up for RPing your characters.

Each month, we'll be posting a new prompt! You'll have the option to participate solo or with a partner and you'll earn yourself some perks along the way.

Prizes will be on a rotating base and will be announced at the start of the month. They will rotate between hue shifts, item add-ons, flaffles & ticket months. There is no set rotation and months will be dependent on staff availability.

Terms of Service

Rules

ONLY 1 RP should be entered per month.
Usual soquili shop / RP rules apply.
Please don't delete any posts in this thread.
The games will ALWAYS be posted in ET time. Each month ends 11:59 PM ET.
The RP must be completed in order for the entry to qualify.

Word Requirements

Hue Shifts: 750 words to qualify for both soquili + fam.

Flaffle Month: Every 250 words earns you a ticket to the flaffle.

Item Month: Requirements may vary depending on the items on offer.

Ticket Month: Every 250 words earns you a ticket towards the EOY raffle.

How to Enter

Respond to the monthly prompt in character & meet the word requirement to qualify for a prize.
Your RP must be turned in here, using the form if you want a prize/ticket.
We'll keep track of old prompts for you to use in your RPs but you cannot earn tickets for these prompts once the month is over.

Tickets & Prizes FAQ

Each time you complete a monthly prompt, you also earn a ticket towards the EOY raffle.
If you RP with a partner, you both earn three tickets towards the EOY raffle.
If you RP with a different person in a new month, you get an additional two tickets for the EOY raffle. This means RPing with a new person earns you five tickets total!
i.e. I RP'd with Phail in February. For March, I did an RP with Cali. That's not Phail so I earned an additional two tickets! The next month, I can RP with Phail again and will get two tickets as that's not Cali.
If this month's prize does not interest you, you can do a 250 words RP for 5 tickets instead.
If we do a monthly prize as a flaffle, any tickets earned by the winners for that month are void and will not be put towards the end of year raffle.
Staff may award bonus tickets based on RP actions.
You can change which prize you want in your form before you are quoted. If I awarded you the wrong one or there was a number mix up, let know.

Quite a number seem to celebrate the end of the Year, but now we've reached the Spring Festival. It begins on a new moon and is typically 15 days long with the festival honoring deities and ancestors. During this time, you see families big and small coming together for reunion dinners, cleaning of their home to remove bad luck, lots of red decorations and other festivities.

How do you choose to celebrate? Are you with family and friends? Are you solo? Perhaps you're not much of a Spring Festival kind of sort and don't celebrate at all. What do you think about the ongoing festivities whether or not you partake in them?

The old saying had always felt like a promise.

“April showers bring May flowers.”

But this year, April arrived brittle and quiet. The earth, usually soft with rain, lay cracked beneath your feet. Each step stirred dust instead of mud. The sky stretched above in a pale and endless blue, empty and unmoving. It was increasingly unsettling.

You stand at the edge of a field that should be greening by now. Instead, it’s a patchwork of dull browns and faded yellows. The wind carries no scent of rain, only the faint, dry whisper of grass rubbing against itself. Somewhere in the distance, a thin column of smoke curls upward, just enough to tighten something in your chest.

They’ve been warning about fires again.

It reminds some of stories, years ago, when flames swept across the land faster than anyone expected, devouring fields, homes, entire horizons. You remember those stories too. Or maybe you remember more than stories.

Still, not everyone believes it will happen again.

Optional additional info: Your companion (or perhaps a stranger you meet along the way) watches the same sky but sees something different. Maybe they insist the rains are just late, that the clouds will gather any day now, heavy and gray, ready to break. Maybe they point to the wind shifting, or the faintest hint of humidity in the air, clinging to hope like it’s something tangible. Or maybe they’re the one who fears the worst and you’re the one trying to believe. :end optional info

As the days pass without rain, tension builds. The land feels like it’s holding its breath. Every spark, whether from lightning or carelessness, feels like a threat waiting to happen.

Will you prepare for fire, expecting history to repeat itself?

Or will you hold onto the belief that the rains will come, that the land hasn’t forgotten how to heal?

Prompt:
Write from the perspective of a character living through this unseasonably dry April. Describe the current weather and explore your character’s internal thoughts. Are they haunted by memories (or stories) of past fires, or do they remain hopeful that rain will arrive in time?

The sky hasn’t changed yet.

But something is coming, one way or another.

This month is a little bit of a free for all, at least when it comes to the roleplay portion.
The prize this month is Items by lolternative!

Items are earned with the following word counts:

250 Words Total: Headpiece
500 Words Total: Butt accessory
750 Words Total: Chest piece

Hitting a higher word count automatically unlocks the previous items. If you want all three items, you must complete 750words.

This month you'll only be able to select a single color and they have to go on 1 pony, no mix and match of colors and no putting them on different ponies. Once the items are complete they will be edited in so you can update your preference list.

Your prompt can be anything you like, talk about the weather, how they're feeling about a secret crush, perhaps, or even a trip down memory lane. Those were just a few ideas, but there are endless opportunities!

Draw a random bouquet (RNG) from the Flower Oracles and discover the message destiny has prepared for you (can be however many flowers you wanna pick 5d20, 3d20, choice is yours).
