Teepee

Huiwen stood within the field, which for a Library guardian like his father, was actually a situation he often found himself in. Especially due to his older sister's expert level use of her bright blue eyes to get her way. It was a wonder how she could use them so well, Huiwen had failed each time he tried his sky blues to get his wishes met. They even got their eyes from the same parent; most of them did. The only brother who had gotten their mother's deep chocolates was hilariously the first to find love among the five. Perhaps.. It wasn't about the colour then? But the practice and patience that comes out of using one's eyes to get their way..

Anyways.
Back to the setting...

In a field. And why? Well, aside from the fact that Mensa was blind and allowed others to decorate her eyes which had no sight whatsoever to them, Muna had grown inquisitive and asked Mensa if there was a meaning to the flowers in the mask. He hadn't thought about the meaning of flowers in awhile, a rabbit hole the stallion once clip clopped his brown hooves down in the stacks and shelves of books that had found refuge in his father's library. "Well, I prefer to be told what they mean, as I haven't a clue what flowers look like! So I know many times I have been decorated with friendship roses, some hopeful dusty millers and other flowers" Mensa answered Muna in her colourful singsongy way. "I know that new beginning daisies and deep commitment roses were added many a times by my Nahale."

They weren't actually looking for flowers in this field though, they were looking for a path to the Flower Oracles they had heard of from the whispers in the Faire. Muna had inquired with him if he knew where many different types of flowers that could lead to deeper meaning for Mensa could be sold? haggled? obtained? And well, he did in some way. The Oracle was found eventually by the siblings and Huiwen watched over Muna as she started on the mask, hoping to bring the flowers to friends who had some sort of resemblance of thumbs to help her stitch it into a mask.

Surrounded by blooms of various beautiful flowers had him thinking about the flowers Nahale got Mensa. And although he sought friendship with Mensa, she was not the favourite that ran from the Courts. No, it was her halfsister Tiam. Allowing his mind to think fondly of the mare who had the capability no other seemed to have; he's put a book down for her mid-read. Heck, even mid-sentence. That was not a thing in the vocabulary of a Relandori scholar; they read. Her presence came with a warmth that comforted him, and for certain she would join him or watch him quietly for hours while he read, but that meant Hui would prefer to have back-and-forth and mingle with Tiam.
Huiwen was also not at all dumb. He had caught feelings for her and there was a bond that probably indicated she had shared some of those feelings.

"Care to make your selection?" The Oracle inquired without prompt, offering him a basket. Huiwen's blue eyes glancing up at her from over the stack of jasmine. "Mmh. Someone with unlimited grace and empathy." He chimed in and took said basket to stop at each row of flowers. Like a rolodex, Huiwen's mind filled with meanings and thoughts. Gingerly selecting jasmine first, both yellow and white for her coat and also for the graciousness that was her. Selecting bluebells for his eyes, and of course her coat, gratitude towards their friendship and hope for an unwavering love. Moving past some roses he picked a few red, thinking back to what Nahale had done for Mensa, and also selecting chrysanthemums. Among Relandori they meant long life, happiness and they represented the sun which was considered perfection. Adding in astras as the flower of wisdom and love to represent him in this bundle.

He considered that an excellent array, that was until he made his way back around to seek out the Oracle to exchange whatever it was to obtain these flowers for Tiam. Pausing his pursuit to the Oracle, he stared at the largest peonies he had ever laid eyes on. The King of Flowers, it was known to him that she was nobility where Tiam and Mensa had come from. They were also said to bring good fortune to relationships, especially during relationship establishments. "Perfect." He said calmly, selecting two and bringing the bouquet to the Oracle.

"Your heart and mind have agreed upon the same loved one. You were both born to traverse a long life and everlasting love together, wise scholars need graceful empaths and vice versa."
With her words, Huiwen gathered his bouquet after giving her a grateful goodbye.
