Who: an old woman
What: feeding pigeons
When: about late afternoon
Where: Central Park
Why: well, most old people get lonely. especially if they are really old because all of their friends are gone. it made me remember when i was in elementary school and we went to visit a senior center once. i was young, so i didn't really understand, but now i know that it probably meant a lot to those people. but back to the old woman. she was feeding the pigeons, and she seemed so at peace with the world. but she also seemed really sad.
conclusion: living to be an old age is both a blessing and a curse. i guess it really depends on how you look at it. if you keep yourself fit and healthy, and surround yourself with good people, then it's a blessing. if you don't take care of yourself and don't find people to spend your time with, then it's a curse. pigeons are a sorry excuse for company, but i guess they'll have to do for this woman.
