Also possibly derived from “penelops”, a type of duck.
Nickname: Her little sister calls her Mana, which means “mother”.
Reason for nickname: She practically raised her little sister, since their parents wouldn’t do it.
So Calypso, being just a little chillun at the time, actually thought Penelope was her real mommy.
She’s older and knows better now, but the “mana” thing just sort of stuck.

Although Penelope herself isn’t exactly the most religious person out there.

Relationship With Her: Bad. Actually, there’s not much of a relationship between them at all.
Ilithyia has never been one to actually take care of her kids herself. And when she actually does have to deal with any of them,
she snaps at them for every little thing, and so on.

Relationship With Him: Same sort of relationship that she has with her mother, but without the snappage.
The one time he ever really got involved in her life was when he found out she had fallen for someone outside their species (Tomah).

Siblings: Two older brothers, and a younger sister. Gavriil, Evander, and Calypso.
Birth Order: Evander, Gavriil, Penelope, and Calypso.
Relationship With Each:
Evander – Evander is not only her older brother, but her best friend. They grew up together,
far before their other two siblings came along. They’re very close.
Gavriil - Penelope never got along with him that well. Nobody really does. Gavriil just isn’t a very nice guy.
Calypso - Penelope LOVES her. Calypso is still a cutsey, squishy, innocent little chillun. The baby of the family. It’s hard not to love her.
Penelope is almost like a mother figure toward her little sister, since their actual mother never takes care of her.
Children of Siblings: Evander is the only one with children. He has two daughters, Aella (named after her great aunt) and Nephele.
Extended Family: Okeanos (Stelios’ uncle), Ilithyia’s sister Aella (deceased) , Evander’s wife Vesta; Sakuma, Kansui, Rorek, and other cousins;
Her cousins’ families, and so on…
Close: With some more than others. Like, she is pretty close with Sakuma, Kansui, and Rorek. She’s not that close with many of their family members.
She’s very close with Okeanos. She was pretty close with her aunt Aella too, before she died.
Why or why not: Well, pretty much everyone in Saku and Kansui’s family frightens her (except for Hyakuhei). Same probably goes with Rorek’s family.
And being their enemy at one point, I’m not sure how close she would really be with Mamimi, Daisuke, and the others (“Oh, sorry I tried to kill you thar”).
Her aunt Aella was more like a mother to her than her own mom was. Okeanos was her father figure when she was growing up
(even though he’s old enough to be her grandpa). Rorek, Kansui, and Sakuma are the nicer of her cousins. And for reasons she can’t really explain,
she can’t help but be protective of little Saku.
OCCUPATION
Where does Character work: She worked for Edward for a while (if you could call that a job), for the sole purpose of getting Rorek’s powers back.
But when she realized that wasn’t going to work, she called it quits.

She was just doing her job. She only wanted to help get her cousin’s powers back.
Why: In the beginning, she blamed Mamimi for Rorek losing his powers. But she learned later that it wasn’t her fault at all.
What happens to change this perception: Well Edward got a hold of Mamimi first, “killed” her, took Rorek’s powers for himself,
and tried to kill Penelope with them later when she confronted him about it.
