Liver Biopsy
So yeah. Recently I've been sick (not so much anymore thank god) with some weird nausea thing. Like In the morning I'd wake up and feel really nauseous, (Like pregnancy... but I'm not pregnant. lol) and I'd tend to dry heave a few times during the day. Since I normally have a slight fear of throwing up it was hell for me. Then I went to the gastrointestinal doctor. We chatted then I took some meds. The meds helped for a good month or so. Then I recently stop getting so nauseous during the day. So the doctor wants me to get a liver biopsy (I'll explain what it is shortly) to rule out a fatty liver (which apparently can cause some decent amount of damage in the future). A few days ago (Wednesday Feb 13th 2008 (I post the date so I have something to laugh at some time in the future lol)) I had a liver biopsy. Now if you don't know what that is, it's pretty much done by a doctor during an ultrasound. Basically they poke the liver with a needle to get a sample of it. The liver is located right under the diaphragm and is a very sensitive organ apparently. They gave me lots of sedation. Keep in mind this type of sedative kept me awake, it just helped me relax. My dad told me it might make me forget what actually happened... weird. Anyway, Afterwards they numb the skin up, then they put the needle in. I heard a sound that resembled a staple gun, which was the needle taking the sample. I didn't see the needle but I know it's a long one (At least 5 inches long I think). I was pretty out of it at this point. Then to make a long story short, I spent quite a few hours in a recovery area (Like an out patient area). I slept most of the time. I just felt bad for my dad cause he was there with me the whole time. A very long 10 hours for him. Bless his soul. <3 So yeah. That was my wonderful Wednesday-day off from work. XD They gave me the next day off thank god. So I should be all better (pain wise) Probably in a couple days.
