The headline for this journal entry says it all; today was the last day of school. The school year ended three days later than last year. The school year last time ended on June 21, 2007. This time it ended on June 24, 2008. And, yes, I know that there is a year between 2007 and 2008. I'm just talking about the date. On with today. Overall, it was boring. Inside, I regret going, but it's good to know I am one of the few people who actually showed up. We, as in 310, 311, and 312, basically watched movies all day. But first, the students were able to use any possessions that they brought along (ex. iPods, cellphones, DS Lites). I had brought my DS Lite. I wasn't the only one, though. Marquise, Julie, Dawn, and Joana also brought their DS'. The only game I brought was Cooking Mama. It was a big hit in my class last year. x] I didn't play it at first because Marquise wanted to play Super Mario with me. It was fun. Everyone else was either taking pictures or listening to music. Ms. Kiernan eventually made us shut off all of our gadgets and watch a movie (Thanks for sucking out all the fun. You deserve the award for teacher of the year). >_> Okay, so anyway, we had to sit in agony watching animals sing Old McDonald over and over and over. Nobody watched. The only person who sang along was Stephen, but he eventually got sick of it and began talking to Shannon and Owen. Ms. Kiernan kept shushing us even though we continued talking. She finally got our point and turned off the sing-along. Instead, she popped in Because of Winn-Dixie. It was even worse. That movie was so boring. We had to wait for Mr. Tout to finish whatever he was doing until we could be taken outside. We waited and waited until FINALLY, after an hour and a half, he came. Mr. Tout took us outside to the field where we had a choice to either play kickball, play with the Frisbee, or stay in the shade and do whatever you want. Half of the students played kickball and half of the students went in the shade. I initially was in the shade, but it began to get crowded, so I played Frisbee with Oanh. We weren't that very good at it, which made it less and less exciting as time went by. When more students began to leave the kickball field and join in, Oanh and I went in the shade. I got out my DS Lite and began playing some Cooking Mama. Then, I handed the DS Lite over to Oanh so that she could play. Once she was done, she handed the DS Lite over to Kenneth, who was also listening to his iPod. Kenneth played for a fair amount of time and handed it to Joana (Readers, are you beginning to see a pattern?) Joana was playing Nintendogs on her DS, but gave that to Kenneth so that she could play Cooking Mama. After a while, Joana returned the DS Lite to me. Then, Marquise and I battled it out in Super Mario. He beat me, sadly, but Dawn was like a genius. She beat him in almost every single round. Stephen wanted to play next, so when Marquise was done, he gave his DS Lite to Stephen, who played Super Mario with me. I beat him and so he handed it back to Marquise. This went on for quite awhile until I felt someone hug me. It was Dawn. She said that she had to go and that she hoped to see me next year at BLS. I said "Bye" and lined up with the walkers. Mrs. Cross lead us back to the cafeteria where I sat with George, waiting for my mom to come pick me up. Madalena passed by the cafeteria but came in when she spotted us. We talked, but then she had to go. As soon as she left, Michelle came and sat with us. She showed us some pictures she had taken with her phone. Her uncle came to pick her up after five minutes and we said our "Goodbyes" once again. Madalena came back, saying that her mom had to get something. We talked some more. Madalena left when her mom was done. Ms. [insert name here] had the remaining students line up to wait in the office. At that point, George announced that he was going to walk home. So, I said goodbye to him and lined up. I waited in the office for a good twenty-five minutes and then began my ride home, with my mom of course. And now I can't wait to enjoy my summer vacation!
