hey guys, i wrote a story because the teacher wanted me to and i thought maybe i could share it with people on gaia!
it is mai littke myth of hao the moon was created, so enjoy!
(the character Yoshi is not Yoshi from Super Mario, but it can be if you want to though... ;D)
How the Moon was created
Long ago, there were four people named Shino, Cindy, Mike, and Yoshi. They were travelers who traveled all over the place as a group. They would only travel during the day because it was too dark at night. One night, after they set up the camp fire, Mike asked everyone “Don’t you wish we could travel more at night?” “I do!” said Cindy. “I do too”, said Yoshi, “but we can’t see where we’re going at night.” “I know”, said Mike, “but don’t you guys wish there was some kind of “night sun” in the sky?” “That gives me an idea!” said Shino, “I think there is someone we can talk to that might make us a “night sun”, but I forgot his name.” “You mean the God of Light?” said Cindy. “Oh yeah!” said Shino. “Then it’s settled!” said Mike, “We’ll go to see the God of Light tomorrow!”
The next day, the four travelers set off to go see the God of Light. When they got to his castle, they saw the God of Light sitting on his thrown petting a puppy. “Hello” Mike greeted, “I’m Mike, and these are my friends Yoshi, Shino, and Cindy. We are travelers.” “Why are you here?” the God of Light asked. “We are here to ask you for something” Mike answered. “What do you want?” “We want you to make a “night sun” for us so we can travel at night.” said Shino. “Hmmm… a “night sun” you say?” The God of Light pondered a bit, and then came up with an idea. “Okay, I’ll grant you your “night sun”, but it can’t be too bright because people sleep at night, and on some nights you will see the whole thing, some nights you will only see some of it, and on other nights, you won’t see it at all. It will reflect the light of the Sun down on Earth at night. Sound good?” “Sounds good, right guys?” Cindy asked her friends. “Yeah, that’s good!” they answered. “Wait!” said Yoshi, “what will we call it?” The God of Light answered, “I shall call it the Moon!”
The next night, the four travelers were able to travel at night. They used the moonlight to see where they were going until they got tired and went to sleep for the night. It was like that almost every night, and they were satisfied.
