I can't believe it's been nearly 6 months since I came to Gaia.
It seems only yesterday I signed on for the first time (It was July 4th, 2008.) with a green head of hair and my first outfit. It seemed so new, all those people above the surface, humans, and everyone below was totally afraid of them. (King Triton always throws things totally out of proportion. rolleyes )
My real name, Anastasia, was of no importance here. I would have to fashion a name for myself that would tell the people who I was without saying my name; such a thing was forbidden for new users. I decided to craft a new name that would describe some aspects of myself, but what to say? There were so many to choose from: I liked the color purple, recycling, Rhianna, the ocean, Broadway stars.
That's it! I would include my favorite Broadway actress in my name and the occupation I wanted to seek out when I grew up. I had recently been to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway and was going all crazy over Sherie Rene Scott, saying she was my new role model. I hoped to be as much a diva as her when I got out of college and onto the Broadway stage.
So far I had 'srsdiva', but I needed something to make it complete. More words seemed too lengthy and emoticons would be silly to put there, so that only left a number. I could have picked many others, but I chose the year that I would graduate from high school, 2011, to complete my name. Thus, 'srsdiva2011' was born.
