What is it about taking ridiculously long showers that makes me so darn tired? I honestly walked into my bedroom and picked up my pen and the paper journal I force myself to write just one page a day in, and after writing one sentence I couldn't pay enough attention to pick the pen back up again. Sure, I finished my page, but wow. And now my hair's still soaking wet and I can't SLEEP, like I probably should.
Alright, let's talk about what I DID today. I actually had a pretty good time...I went with my little brother's Boy Scout troop to help with our local fire department's mass casualty drill. All the boys had fun because they love fake blood and being made up to look gross. As for me, I'm a total drama queen, so faking like I'm half-dead is my idea of amusement. When we got there, the people organizing the whole thing were passing out little cards with descriptions of injuries and whatnot on them. The boys I was with, of course, immediately started swapping to get the deadest card. I was perfectly happy with my broken vertebra, though. Mom told me that last year, the people who were dead were bored as hell, so I was hoping for something serious but not fatal. A pretty bad fake injury, but not so bad that I have to lie there all afternoon. I was jealous of the dead people for a while, since they all had copious quantities of fake blood and white-face makeup, but I ended up with a pretty nasty cut-up patch myself. What's more, having it on my lower back meant nobody could see it until they asked, which was when I shocked them with my big, bloody, and convincingly realistic bruises. Usual reaction: "AWESOME!" XD
The comparing went on for a while, until we actually started getting ready for the firemen to show up. A bunch of people got put back in the buses we came to the fire station in, to make it seem like a wreck. I ended up just outside one of the buses, flat on the ground, legs at a strange angle from the rest of my body (my idea, and it really hurt to stay that way, I wonder why I bothered), trying to pull myself up to see what was going on without using my legs. I did pretty well at the "extremely nervous and anxious" thing on my card. When there are ambulances going around everywhere, the sun is going down, and there's a practice fire burning, it's not hard to imagine that there really is a disaster. It was really cool, though. I got carried off to an ambulance on a stretcher, since I "couldn't feel my legs". I've never been in an ambulance before! And the fireman guy was really cute. Or maybe I just think he was because I like firemen. #>_>#
Oh well! Enough random babbling. I'm sure this isn't particularly interesting, but trust me, it was so cool if you were there. Either that or I'm entirely too amused by fake blood. I swear upcoming entries won't be this long. Mods, where's an LJ-cut when you need one?
