In the far away lands of somewhere, our dear fairy tale takes place.
Colleen rolled over in her small twin bed. Her face, usually peaceful in sleep, was graced with an embarrassed expression. Her cheeks suddenly flushed in the midst of a dream. A whisper escaped her lips, in the form of a mumbling sigh. A small creature peeked from a hole looking up at the sleeping girl, it crept from the small gap, another figure following it. The two scampered quickly across the room, and up the posts of the bed. They ran in synch, like a quick paced march. It was less than a couple seconds before they were on the pillow next to Colleen’s head. “Colleen! Colleen! Wake up!” the mouse wearing a blue dress squeaked. No response came from the girl. The mouse beside the first, looked at Colleen impatiently, Her black dress ruffled. “Oi! Twin! Wake up! It’s almost 6:00!” She said. Colleen moved in her sleep, turning from her right side to her left, a lock of her red hair almost swatting the two little mice off the bed. The blue dressed mouse looked at the other. “Shayna, what do we do?” Colleen muttered something in her sleep; Shayna rolled her small beady eyes. “Christina, she’s out cold, we’ll have to use method 38 on her.” The two mice positioned themselves side by side, their little paws in front of them as if they held a long stick as tall as their torso in front of them. Then at an unspoken command, they launched themselves from the pillow to Colleen’s face. Christina clamped her lips shut, and Shayna plugged her nose; cutting off all sources of air. Seconds later a scream erupted from the silence of the morning, but since the room was virtually sound proof, no one in the house was disturbed by the shriek of surprise. Colleen, now wide awake, and a little pissed off, was chasing the mice about on her bed. “Augh! What is wrong with you guys! You could have killed me by doing that!” Colleen shouted at the laughing mice. Shayna laughed in a high pitched jingle. “Sorry twin! But when you get too far under, it’s the only way we can wake you up!” After a struggle, Colleen caught both mice and held them up to her face. Her eyes burned with her morning grumpiness. Christina chimed from her right hand. “Don’t be mad Colleen! If we don’t wake you up, then your sisters and mom would get really mad.” Colleen fell back against the bed, letting go of the mice, who then scrambled up to her pillow where they could see her. “Damn, and I was having a nice dream too. I was dancing… with a man I’ve never seen before. All I remember of his face is his really long black brai-” “wait a minute.” Shayna cut in, Christina following right after. “I thought you aren’t supposed to tell your dreams or they never come true. You know, a dream is a wish you heart makes?” Colleen puffed a strand of hair out of her face. “Screw that, I never believed that dream is a wish crap. Mine never come true whether I tell them or not. If they did, I’d be out of this hell hole, and I’d be riding off on a graham cracker while getting chased by a bus.” She sat up, and the two mice jumped up on to her nightgown, each taking a shoulder. Colleen looked out the open window, the morning sun catching her green eyes just right, making them glow. Her mind raced through the dream again, and she blushed. Christina looked up at her in surprise. “Who was this guy? This is the first I’ve heard of him.” Colleen looked over at Christina. “Actually, I’ve had dreams of him before,” She looked strait ahead again. “But I can’t ever remember what he looks like; by the time I wake up his face is a blur. All I remember is really long hair in a braid…” Shayna, on her left shoulder, groaned. “Ayaa, you not having dreams about Sire Edward again are you? I keep telling you, literature characters don’t exist! You can’t be in love with a character from your favorite book!” Colleen looked at her with a sort of glare “Shadap! I’ll be a fan of Ye Full Metal Blacksmith till the day I die!” Shayna whispered, “Sire Ed x King Roy.” And found herself being squeezed to death by Colleen’s hand. “Don’t screw around with the person who can squish you Shayna…”After the mouse yelled uncle, Colleen released her. She sighed, closed her eyes, and turned back. “Besides, It wasn’t him… Sire Edward’s hair is blonde… but this man, his was as dark as raven’s wing.” The sound of paws on wood made Colleen turn to look on the floor, as two male mice skittered in. One was very long, and thin, the other short and tubby. The long one had blue eyes and looked up to the girls with a lazy version of a greeting. “Hey,” “Hey Chris, Tim.” Colleen greeted them as they also ascended the bed post. It took more time for Tim, however, because of gravity. “Geeze, why does it have to be a strait up climb?” “It’s a strait up climb… because it doesn’t like you Tim…” Chris said with a slur. Tim looked up at Colleen and twitched his nose. “Hey, don’t you have to start working soon?” He dodged a swat of Colleen’s hand. “What did I do?!” “You reminded me of my crappy life! Now shoo! I need to get dressed!” Shayna and Christina jumped off her shoulders to usher the boys out onto the staircase. As they left her sight, Colleen heard a sudden thumping down the stairs, which must have meant that Chris pushed Tim down the staircase again. Colleen got up, yawned and stretched, and then went to the windows and opened them. Several birds came fluttering in, Melissa, Elizabeth, Amanda, Paulina, Brittany, and Alex. As they all tweeted good morning, and made their way toward the drawer, Colleen looked out the window, thinking of the mysterious dream man. Then she shook her head. ‘As if… my dreams don’t come true.’ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heya Guys! I haven't been on for a while so i decided to start afresh. This is my parody of Cinderleen. It's just my way of entertaining myself and practicing my writing skills, so if there's anything wrong with it, feel free to pitch in some constructive criticism.
