Okay this one's kind of rough... It's kind of been floating around in my head for a while now... Be nice, if your not I'll cry:

Derby is Twenty-one. She works two jobs, and has to take care of her ailing mother. Since she turned eighteen she's been having a recurring dream in which towns people capture her and burn her alive. The faces and voices in this dream are always different, save one. A man who stands off to the side. He wears a white patterned kilt and she calls him Gavin. The man never helps her but also can't watch as the townspeople burn her at the stake. the dream always ends with a fire creator attempting to swallow her whole, but she always wakes up before it can.

One day as she's at her second job, cleaning a museum, she over hears the Curator arguing with an old man about a display. Upon seeing the display she knows it. It is the same scene from her nightmares. It is a tapestry of the burning of a which, who was a lover of Highland lord. The old man introduces himself to her as Lord Gavin from Ireland. Lord Gavin begins to spend more and more time with her, and eventually introduces her to his company's inheritor a young man named Marrok DeMaponos.

Marrok is a young genious, at twenty-three he's already beginning to take over Lord Gavin's company, leading the way through the past year and a half. The worst thing is that Marrok looks exactly like the Gavin from Derby's dreams. Derby sees the two are worlds apart but deeply attracted to one another. Things get even worse when Derby's mother passes away while she's on a date with the budding Executive.

Marrok tries to be a good friend by helping Derby pay for the funeral her mother deserved but that Derby couldn't afford. How is the humble Executive to get through to the Proud but poor College drop out?
