<If you have a better title please tell me>
She’s twenty years old
And already has a son who’s five
Not once in those years after childbirth
Did she feel a connection
A rope attaching
This boy to her
For five years
She ran out of patience
When he couldn’t do something she wanted him to
She didn’t feel any amount of guilt
When she yelled at him
She didn’t feel hurt
When she heard him crying himself to sleep
For five years
This boy was not loved by his mother
He was forgotten
After shopping
She unbuckled the boy
Set him does on his feet
And told him to go inside
He made his way to the garage door
Stopped underneath it
And turned around to watch his mother
She was getting the bags out of the car
Thinking about the toys she got her son for Christmas
Wondering whether or not he’ll like them
When a loud cracking noise fill her ears
Automatically, her head turned toward it
Not one person could hear her scream
The sound was so high pitched
Filled with so much anger and sorrow
Only the animals could hear the sound
Of a mother losing her only child
He lay on the ground
An icicle slowly melting in his brain
Blood splattered on the icy ground
She crys and finally feels
The love that was missing all these years
She yells and wonders why
Her heart lies broken in her chest
And yet the snow still falls
So innocently
As if no one was hurt
It covers the blood
And it covers the boy
Making the spot pure again
