I'm going to CPAC with some friends. So now is the good time for me to start figuring out what I want to get and how much I'm going to spend since I want to save my most of my money for AnimeNext. Haha, for that one I'm going to go all three days. So yeah that's not going to be cheap at all. sweatdrop
But it's going to be totally fun! I'll so want my friends to go, which is why my sis will be giving us a ride...we all must remember to thank her for that since we're using up her gas money and those toll booths. Of course that's for AnimeNext and it's still a while for that.
Anyway, while I'm writing this journal I'm trying to figure out what I want to get at CPAC. Usually before I go to any convention I make a list of the things I want to get and how much they cost. I figure out an estimated price by checking out the list of dealer's room that they post like two or three days before the con. That way, I can figure out how much to bring. Surprising enough, it works for me because I sometimes have just the right amount to save for next time.
Trust me...I'm one of those fiends that stalk the booths for everything first, and than I go to the ones that are cheaper. Cuz really, if one booth sells a kitty hat for $27 and I find another that sells it for $20...where do you think I'll be heading to?
XD
Oh, sometimes it's good to barter with them. Cuz once I wanted a Devil May Cry Soundtrack (the last one they had) and I didn't have enough money. And I was like, "Nooooo! I want it! I'm only a few buck short of getting it!" And the guy saw that I wanted it and I wasn't lying. I made sure to not put ALL of my money in my wallet (I had like 30 bucks left in my pocket but at the time I forgot and thought I was broke) so when I counted my singles my wallet was empty. And the guy saw that I didn't have any left. He was nice enough to let me have it since it was only $5 or was it $10 from getting it. And it was two DMC discs, they were pretty expensive and sure I could have downloaded it or something online but I've tried that. You wouldn't be able to find them anywhere else. So finding them in the first place I was pretty damn lucky.
Lesson is, sometimes it helps to not put all yout money in your wallet. Cause when you forget and see your wallet is empty, someone will pity you. That and you never know when you lose your wallet or get mugged.
I'm not saying that happen to me but you never know. lol
Okay, hm....as for the things I'm thinking of getting in CPAC....
Buttons (probably a bunch of these) Kingdom Hearts: Heartless Hat (Optional, but I always find myself with hats to every convention I've been too....so I mustn't break tradition!) Keychain (maybe...) Hoodie (I sooo need one or two. Will depend on the price though) Necklace (Not so important but would like a pretty one) Tote bag (I really need one) T-shirt (Meh, I got soooo many t-shirts but if there's a nice funny one I'll get it but only if I have any left over money)
I can't think of anything else. Usually the past anime conventions I've been to, I've gotten a lot of the things I've always wanted, so the list of stuff I want gets smaller and smaller. The things listed above, will most likely be the things I'll be focus on getting at CPAC. That way in AN I'll just focus on the DVDs and one manga I want and anything else that I might of not have gotten at CPAC but really wanted it.
I do it like that because than I can focus on the events, the panels and just enjoy it and not spent a large amount of time in the dealer's room or the artist's alley.
