You all know how much I hate stereotypes and I just wanted to let all the so-called ignorant Americans know what the rest of the world thinks about them. (I've been in the land to be at least partially considered one myself so..yes.)
1. Fat/lazy- Hey, now! Most Americans are actually really skinny! I think that's rude. And especially because some people DIE from overworking themselves, people should think before pelting us with this one. >>
2. Loud- Okay...this one is a bit more true. I know some good mates who are simply obnoxious. But hey, I barely utter more than ten words. So, this one is sort of out.
3. Ignorant- Actually, most of the (younger) population are keenly aware of everything and have an undying curiosity. Yes, this can be quite annoying, especially if you come from Europe heavily ladden with an accent. Well, in hindsight, most don't even know where Japan is located, let alone Manchester.. =.= Okay, I am officially dropping this one.
4. Pushy/arrogant- Well, most of them are really sweet. It's the adults you have to watch. Their patience runs quite low.
5. Everything has to be XXL(cars, houses, burgers, implants, etc. ) Okay, well. Again, not true. Most people actually prefer smaller vehicles to the monster SUVs that roam the highways. Those would be your stereotypes. Arrogant fat-arse bastards. Implants? Blame evolution. Men...I really honestly have no idea what they are thinking. Houses? Most people live in effing APARTMENTS! I never heard of those being large. Especially in today's economy.
6. Rich- Oh, I hate this one. HAVE YOU LOT NOT BEEN HEARING ABOUT OUR ECONOMY?! WE'RE IN THE BLOODY TANK! Sure, people who fly trans-Atlantic are going to be wealthy, but back here? Right.
7. Wear shorts all year round- In which part? In Florida/ California? That's nearly a given because it's so hot out, but lately, the new "hip" thing is wearing pants constantly. Well, if you're me at least.
8. Think everything's "quaint"- Okay, I beg your pardon? I've never used that word in my LIFE.
9. Think UK=England.- Okay, this one doesn't apply to me, but you probably know why. I'm not sure about the rest, though. The probably have enough common sense to put two and two together...hopefully.
10. Think England= London- Okay, this is another one where I just don't know. It's possible, but once again, I'm not like that. Perhaps I'm not fully American after all..
11. Exclaim "Oh my god!" constantly- Erm...no? I don't do that. None of my friends do either.
12. Love any ounce of history- LOL! Adults, perhaps. Children could care less. Must be a tourist thing. xD
13. Think there's only two universities in England(Cambridge and Oxford)- I suppose this one is possible. Unless someone looks into it.
14. Warmongering- *insulted beyond words*
15. Religious fanatics- Not particularly. Not many people even go to Midnight Mass for Christmas any more.
16. Constantly eat fast food- Some people utterly despise things like Wendy's. So, there you are.
17. Superficial (Celebrity Culture)- Some people couldn't care less about these so-called celebrities. Excuse me, Ms. Kardashian, what exactly did you do again?
