I gotten the book a while ago and already finished reading it but I've forgot to write my thoughts on it. It's a survival manual dealing with the potentiality of a fictional zombie attack. It contains detailed plans for the average citizen to survive zombie uprising of varying intensity and reach, and describes "cases" of zombie outbreaks in history, including an interpretation of Roanoke Colony. I personally like it. It was entertaining and surprisingly well researched that it could fool someone into thinking a zombie outbreak might be possible. I was also very amused with it. The serious tone in the book, about things that were so ridiculous will make you laugh out loud several times while the reading of it. For example, chainsaws. We always see them used a lot in moves but realistically, as fun as they are they'll give you a false sense of power. Really...you can't cut through the human body like butter, nor can you get rid more than one undead if you're stuck in a tight spot. Oh! Did I mention that eventually the noise would draw more attention of the walking dead towards you and at some point the chainsaw will run out of fuel. And you can't forget the effort require to swing it continually and make sure not to get yourself caught on it either. Not the exactly words of the book but that's the gist of it. But really, this was one of the most unique and entertaining reads I've had in a very long time. I'm glad I got it and I recommend it to anyone who is into the zombie genre or wish to get into it. It's fun and well, entertaining!

And here are some quotes from the book as well: "The dead walk among us. Zombies, ghouls—no matter what their label—these somnambulists are the greatest threat to humanity, other than humanity itself." — Introduction, page xiii
"A true crisis. Class 3 outbreaks, more than any other, demonstrate the clear threat posed by the living dead. Zombies will number in the thousands, encompassing an area of several hundred miles." — The Undead: Myths and Realities: Outbreaks: Class 3, page 25
"Of all the weapon discussed in this book, nothing is more important than your primary firearm. Keep it cleaned, keep it oiled, keep it loaded, keep it close. With a cool head, steady hand, and plenty of ammunition, one human is more than a match for an army of zombies." — Weapons and Combat Techniques: Firearms, page 41
"Hooking on scuba gear and blindly diving into zombie-infested water is a wonderful way to mix the two childhood terrors of being eaten and drowning." — Max Brooks (The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead) "Zombies will try to scale any surface no matter how unfeasable or even impossible. In all but the easiest situations, these attempts have met with failure. Even in the case of ladders, when simple hand-over-hand coordination is required, only one in four zombies will succeed." — Max Brooks (The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead) "Unlike the escapee, your team of hunters will be out during the brightest, hottest, most excruciating part of the day. Make sure each hunter is well supplied with water and antisunstroke accessories." — Max Brooks (The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead) "Use your head; cut off theirs." — Max Brooks (The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead) "1. Organize before they rise! 2. They feel no fear, why should you? 3. Use your head: cut off theirs. 4. Blades don't need reloading. 5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair. 6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it. 7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike. 8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert! 9. No place is safe, only safer. 10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on." — Max Brooks (The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead)
