This was a story my 9th grade english teacher got me syarted on.
FullMetal Alchemist
Resombool's Fuher's Story
It was about 9:00 pm, and I was looking at pictures of our family. My father, my mother, Ed, Al, Jean, Winry, Rain, and me we looked like we all were happy together. Even though my siblings weren't my full blood brothers and sisters. My mother and father were being driven apart by all my dads drinking and his attitude. My mother tried to keep me out of their fights, but I wouldn't have it. It's about 10:30 pm now, I looked at my bare empty room in our cold apartment building in Resembool. For some reason I couldn't fall asleep. There was a thought in my head that I couldn't get out. I guess I was thinking, how I could change my father? How can I change his ways? How will I be able to change him? Am I able to change him? Is it possible to change him? After all it wouldn't matter anyway. We are both great in wielding fire. It's 12:30 am now and I really need to be getting to bed, before my mom comes in and yells at me. I think she knows exactly when I'm awake. Ro sighed. "Father how am I gonna change you?" I sighed. "Guess I will save the rest of my thinking for morning…" It's morning now; I get up from my night of thinking. I get out of bed, and go to my closet to get my military uniform. I go to the bathroom and take a shower. "Well I see he's awake now. I wonder how long he was up last night?" she whispered. I came downstairs for breakfast. "Good morning Ro," she started drinking her coffee. "Good morning," I said sitting down. "What time do you have to be at Central today?" she asked as she was looking over her coffee cup. "Honestly I don't know…would you like me to give you a lift to central," I said as I shrugged my shoulders. "Sure why not" she agreed as she tilted her head. "Ok after breakfast we shall go how does that sound?" I said as I was picking up the fork to eat my breakfast. "Sounds good to me," she smiled. They were headed for Central by early morning. Everything was bright and green, but…too quiet. All the soldiers were still asleep. Ro went into the first bunker and started yelling. "Rise and shine, everybody up there's work to do!" Ro yelled. All he could hear was snoring and moaning. He came back a second time with pots and pans yelling and banging the pots. "Everyone get up!!" Ro yelled again. "Ah-h come on Sarg it's five in the morning, can't we just sleep??" they moaned. Ro could hear everyone's voice but one. He didn't see any smoke rising from the back left bunker. He walked toward Lt. Havoc's bunk. Ro leaned down, and started whispering in his ear. "Oh Havoc…if you get up I will put you higher up on the food chain. Officers who are higher than Lieutenant get better food, like steak and spare ribs. Now, doesn't that sound good?" Ro whispered as he started to smile. In half a second Havoc was up, and getting the others to get up and stop complaining as well. Havoc lit one of his cigarettes and got in his uniform. In the front of the bunker where Ro was standing Havoc could see that Ro was looking at something in the forest. "What are you lookin' at Sarg?" Havoc said. Ro pointed to what he was looking at. Havoc looked toward that same direction. "Oh you see the fire huh," Havoc looked toward the fire. "I was wondering why he comes out so early," Ro put his hand on his neck. "He??" Havoc cocked his head and lifted one eyebrow. "My father," Ro was amazed at Havoc's one-track mind. "No one really knows maybe you should go find out?" Havoc suggested. "Think you could hold down the fort while I'm gone?" Ro looked at Havoc with a smile on his face. "Yeah I can hold down the fort, you just see what's up," Havoc looked down at his shifting feet. Ro ran off into the forest toward his father. As Ro was running, the light got brighter. He could hear the sound of the fire crackling and someone running. "Too slow…I didn't hit my target." Roy skid as he came to a stop. After Ro got to where his father was he seen that he wasn't hitting his targets. So he thought he would give his father a helping hand. Roy tried hitting his target again. Ro fired toward his father's flame and directed it toward the target. "Yes, I finally hit the target." Roy jumped up and down. "Yes with a bit of my help…" Ro started walking out of the forest. "Fuhrer…but what are you doing here??" Roy was a little shocked to see the Fuhrer. "Thought I would pay you a visit…is that ok with you??" Ro asked as he stood in front of Roy. "Well uh-h…yea if you want to stay?" Roy started to stutter. "Great! Shall we begin?" Ro clapped his hands together. "Uh-h, begin what?" Roy scratched his head. "Me helping one of my best alchemists aim straight," Ro looked at Roy. "Um…well…ok?" Roy wasn't sure what the Fuhrer intended to do. Ro began with helping Roy hit his targets. After a while Roy got exhausted, and dropped on the ground. "I take it, your tired??" Ro asked. "Yeah I'm tired…are you?" Roy was short on breath. "A little bit yeah, but you know me I can fight from dusk till dawn without getting tired." Ro looked at the sky, then at Roy. "Yeah that's true…." Roy agreed. "Hey Fuhrer…." "Yes…?" Ro turned around. "I have a question for you…" Roy tilted his head to look at Ro. "Ok shoot…" Ro put his arms up then dropped them. "You know how you can fight from dusk till dawn and how we soldiers have seen you fight. I think it was for two days straight right?" Roy looked at the ground. "Yeah, and yes it was two days straight…where are we going with this?" Ro started shaking his head.. "Well I was--" Roy broke off there. "You were…." Ro said trying to get Roy to talk some more. "Nothing, never mind…it was nothing," Roy moved his hand in the dust. "It's just us here you can say whatever it may be that you were going to ask," Ro kneeled down next to Roy. "Well ok I will ask it." Roy was a little uneasy. "I was-I was wondering how you got to be like you are now. With your fighting technique and how you can fight without getting tired. And how you got to be so strong? I would do anything to have that power, that fighting style, and that strength. To just keep fighting without slowing down." Ro gave a soft smile to Roy. "You really want to be like me? In social status, strength and fighting style?" Ro got up. "More than anything Sir." Roy looked up again. "If I show you these techniques you must promise to harm no one unless they harm you first, and to use these techniques to protect not to enforce…" Ro bent over to look Roy in the eye. "I promise sir" Roy looked back. I wonder if he will really keep his promise, he hasn't in the past. Ro thought. I will test him and make sure. If he doesn't keep his promise I will cut him off from learning my technique…I wonder how determined he is? "Ok, we shall begin tomorrow then…but right now we need to get back to Central and get you some rest." Ro stood up straight. "Do you think you can walk??" "Ok let's go…and I will try to walk." Roy rocked forward.. Roy got up and tried walking but he could only stand up for a very short time, thirty seconds at the most. "Looks like I have to carry you then" Ro shook his head. "Come on hop on." "You sure about this, sir?" Roy scratched his head. "It's fine, after all you can't walk very well and I am the Fuhrer. I like to see my soldier well and happy that's all I really wish to see." Ro leaned down. Roy got on Ro's back and Ro carried him back to Central. "You can rest your head on my shoulder if you like…it must be sore from all that training we did," Ro looking back at Roy. "Yeah, it kind of is" Roy said rubbing his neck. "You just rest your head I will handle everything else, alright?" Ro looked back toward the front. "Well ok? If you insist," Roy said putting his head down. Ro started walking out of the forest and back to Central. As soon as Ro could see Havoc he let out a whistle. Havoc turned around. So he still understands the whistle talk that I taught him when I was little. Well, I guess it comes in handy when I just want to talk to him. Ro thought. "Just a little further until Central" Ro started talking. "If you want you can act like I found you passed out on the ground?" Ro could only hear Roy's soft breathing, telling him that Roy was asleep. Hmm guess he was tired after all. He fell asleep on my shoulder, and hasn't moved since I picked him up. I will just let him sleep; he can have an easy day today. As soon as Ro walked out of the forest and called to Havoc. Havoc didn't notice the Colonel on Ro's back. "Hey Ro, there you are I was starting to worry about you. We all saw a tower of flames come out from atop of the trees. We thought you and Colonel Mustang tied into--" Havoc broke off. "Ok that's a site no one has ever seen…we usually see him all ticked off or him being crude to Full-Metal." Ro smiled and turned toward Roy. "Yeah, I know what you mean." Ro looked toward Roy and blew at his hair. Roy moved a little. "Now if only this wolf could be tamed. That would make my job a whole lot easier." "Yeah it would, wouldn't it," Havoc scratched an itch on his back. "Hey Havoc…." Ro directed his eyes to Havoc. "Can you follow me to his room so I can lay him down to rest?" "You mean he's---" Havoc got cut off. "No moron he's just asleep I can hear him breathing." Ro smacked Havoc. "Oh…ha-ha my bad." Havoc blushed. Ro and Havoc went to Roy's apartment to lay him down to sleep. When Ro and Havoc were talking as they left Roy's apartment and were headed back to Central. Ro was watching the girl on the roof of her home cleaning it off. She kept slipping and she didn't have anything to help keep her up there. Ro looked toward her house, again, and he got these wide frightened eyes. He took off running to her house. "Hey where are you going?" Havoc yelled as he followed Ro. Ro jumped the girl's fence. "Whoa, that was cool. Now only if I had that kind of a jump, that would be awesome." Havoc squealed, "All those muscles and that jump that would be great. Maybe I would get a girlfriend then………sweet." Ro jumped toward the girl. In mid air he turned so that he would land on his back. He caught the girl as she fell and with a thud she was safe. "Oh my thank you! I thought I wasn't going to see this beautiful town ever again." Said the girl. "Um sir? Are you ok?" She was trying to wake Ro when Havoc ran up. Havoc dropped to his knees beside is Fuhrer. "Ro, come on Fuhrer wake up. We got to get back to Central! They need us there!" Havoc yelled. "His name is Ro?" the girl asked. "Actually it's Roronen, but we call him Ro for short." Havoc started taping Ro's cheeks. "Then might I ask your name??" the girl asked. "As soon as I know yours." Havoc picked Ro's hand up to check his pulse. "Mine is Alicia, now may I know yours?" Alicia looked at Havoc then at Ro. "I'm Lieutenant Jean Havoc, I'm with Central Command." Havoc started. "Here can you help me get him inside." "Um well ok, I have a hammock that we could put him in." Alicia suggested. "That will work too." Havoc started putting Ro's arm up over his shoulder. "God, he's heavy…never thought that I would have to pick him up when he tried being a hero." "You mean he has tried this before?" Alicia asked a little confused. "Yea he has, but he didn't knock himself out. He can take pain like a pin p***k and not feel hardly any of it." Havoc leaned backward in the hammock. He fell over trying to put Ro in it. Ro went into the hammock, and so did Havoc. Havoc landed with the heavier part of his body on a certain part of his Fuhrer. Oh gees he's gonna feel that when he walks up. Havoc thought. "Wow that's impressive..." Alicia put his legs on the hammock. "Could you tell me more about him?" "I will tell you as much as I know, but to get the full story you will have to talk to his mother. She also works at Central Command." Havoc put Ro's arms to his side. "What's her name?" Alicia asked. "Riza, Riza Hawkeye." Havoc replied. "Hawkeye?" Alicia asked, still confused. "She got her name from her extraordinary fire arm skills. She can hit any target up to five miles away." Havoc started. "Hey, do you have a phone?" "Yes, yes I do. Do you need to use it?" Alicia asked. "If you don't mind, yes. He told me if he ever knocks himself out, that I need to call his mother." Havoc crossed his arms. "Ok right this way." Alicia pointed. Havoc followed her into the house. She showed him where the phone was. She walked back outside with a bucket of cool water and a rag. She wet the rag, wrung it out and placed it on Ro's forehead. She picked up his hand and held it in hers. Havoc came back out to let the girl know that his mother was on her way.. When he got to where Ro and Alicia were he saw Alicia curled up at his side with his arm around her, asleep. Havoc smiled and walked away. He decided to go and meet Riza down the road since she was walking. When he met up with Riza he started telling her what happened. When they came up on the house where Havoc had left Alicia and Ro, he pointed through the fence at where they were curled up together. "That's the girl, and there's Ro." Havoc said quietly. "She is the one he saved?" Riza asked. "That would be the one." Havoc took a puff of his cigarette. "Shall we go in? She has been doctoring him since we put him in the hammock." "No, let's not go in. Let her take care of him. She knows what she's doing. You can stay here if you want. It's a beautiful day and a beautiful yard. If you want to just sit and enjoy the day. If you smoke put it out on the concrete and clean it up afterward." Riza said to Havoc. "Sure I will stay. Guess I will see you at Central then." Havoc shrugged. "Do you think you could come up with something to tell the other soldiers??" "I can handle it." Riza said smiling. Havoc walked into Alicia's yard and laid down in the grass. Hmm, I wonder what the two are dreaming about. Ah-h I don't really care, but I think that Ro just might get himself a girlfriend out of this day. He needs one more than I. Well guess all I can do is fall asleep to the sounds of this beautiful yard, Havoc thought falling asleep. After a while, one of Alicia's friends came over for a surprise visit. She knocked on the door. No answer, she tried behind the house on the hammock. As Alicia's friend walked behind the house, she could see a blue cloth hanging from one of the trees that Alicia would go up into and relax. Her friend walked to the tree and tried to see who it was. Oh, it's a military uniform, or at least part of one. Is the soldier awake? I'm afraid to find out, but I really want to know. She thought. "Hey who's there?" Havoc sat up. "Oh, so you are awake! Good, good, do you by any chance know were Alicia is? Also why are you in her yard?" said the lady. "Yeah I know where she is, but first who are you?" Havoc leaned back and crossed his arms. "Oh I am Maria, and who are you?" Maria put her hand through her hair. "Lt. Jean Havoc, state your business here." Havoc stared at her. "What? I'm not allowed to visit my friend?" Maria said putting her hands on her hips. "What is your excuse for being here?" "My Fuhrer…" Havoc looked toward Ro, then back at Maria. "You're what??" Maria leaned toward Havoc. "The head of the military, I'm here with him." Havoc put his hands behind his head. "And where might he be?" Maria leaned back. "Isn't it obvious to you?" Havoc closed his eyes. "No, should it be?" Maria said. Wow this chick is dumber than I thought…I thought that she would know where Alicia was if I was her? He thought. "If you really what to know go find Alicia. He is with her." Havoc stood up and jumped out of the tree. "What!!! If he does anything fowl to her…I'll…I'll…I don't know what I will do!!" Maria's face turned red. "Just follow me will ya, gees." Havoc started walking away. "Fine." Maria followed. Havoc led Maria to the far back part of Alicia's yard to where the pond and the hammock was. Maria saw Alicia lying on her side with a man's arm around her. The man was on his back with a rag on his forehead. "Looks like I have to get the rag wet again." Havoc said grabbing the rag off Ro's forehead. "Now do you see why I didn't want you to disturb them?" "No," Maria said with her arms crossed. "Hmm, it's a pretty warm day isn't it? And from what I know that pond over there is crystal clear, and deep enough for a swim." Havoc said looking toward the sky. "Yeah, what's your point genius?" Maria said, coldly. "Wait…what are you doing?" "Taking off my jacket and military uniform. I always wear shorts underneath my uniform." Havoc hung his jacket at Ro's head. "Well, perhaps I will join you I planned on going swimming with Alicia anyway." Maria narrowed her eyes. "It just means that I will be able to dunk you a hundred times." "That sounds good to me." Havoc said smiling. "Well shall we jump in?" "Last one in has to buy all four of us dinner for a week, at any place we choose." Maria said coyly. "Seems like a fair deal. Ok, I accept." Havoc said. "Shall we." Havoc and Maria took off running. Both hit the edge of the pond at a dead run. They both jumped into the water. Havoc jumped in head first, and Maria went in feet first. "Well, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" Havoc run his fingers through his hair. "I guess not. You're not so bad after all." Maria leaned forward. "But I still get to dunk you." "Hey wait a minute here!!!" Havoc yelled jumping backward. Maria jumped from the edge of the pond right on top of Havoc pushing him down into the water. As she did this, what she didn't know was that she knocked the air out of him. He got the air knocked out of him so hard he didn't get a chance to take a breath. "Told you that I would dunk you." Maria came back up and wrung the water out of her hair. "Jean? Where are you?" Maria saw something floating to the top of the pond. "Jean? Jean is that you? Come on, if this is a joke it isn't funny!" Maria started panicking. Maria pulled Havoc out of the water and onto the bank, closest to Ro. Maria was trying to get Havoc to wake up but nothing was happening. He just laid as still as stone there on the grass. In Maria's frantic attempt to wake Havoc up, she didn't hear Ro start to stir. "Oh dear what am I going to do??? I killed a military officer…I'm gonna be convicted of murder!! No, no, no Jean you have to be alive oh come on wake up." Maria said panicking. "Ow my head. I feel like I got hit by a train." Ro said in a quiet voice then looked up. Ro heard a voice that sounded really frightened, and turned toward it. Ro got out of the hammock leaving his jacket with Alicia since it smelled like Ro and it was warm. "No, no, no oh come on Jean, wake up." Maria kept panicking. "Is there a problem here?" Ro started walking over to Maria. Maria didn't here him till he said something and it scared her. "Uh-h, no? Should there be?" Maria tried to cover what happened. "Then why is Jean on the ground?" Ro wasn't surprised. "Uh-h sleeping! Shhh." Maria was terrified of what Ro might do. "Some how I don't believe that. Tell me the true story." Ro crossed his arms and shifted his position. "Ok fine I will tell you what happened. I walked in the yard to visit my friend. She didn't answer the front door so I came around back. I seen something blue is the tree and went over to find out what it was. I saw that it was a military officer sitting in the tree. He asked me to state my business and I told him. We started to fight over where Alicia was. He said that she was with his Fuhrer. Then he asked me to go for a swim so I accepted. I told him that if I go for a swim with him I am going to drag him under the water, to get back at him being rude to me. Then when I jumped from the bank onto him, pushing him under…I saw him float back up. So I drug him onto the shore and tried to revive him. But it's not working." Maria started to cry. "So what you're telling me is that you jumped on Jean, pushing him underneath the water. And in your attempt to do so you didn't allow him to get a breath of hair before hand. But it wouldn't have done any good because at that speed it would have knocked the breath out of him drowning him instantly from him trying to breathe. Am I correct?" Ro narrowed his eyes and stared at her. "Yes sir" Maria said looking down in shame. I can tell she didn't mean to do this to him, but what she is thinking now is that Jean is dead. But what I know is that he's not. I can see it just by looking at him. What it is that he can't get a breath of air. He thought. "Ok I will let you know two things right now." Ro said firmly. "Ok??" Maria looked up. "One is don't you ever do that to a military officer again." Ro held up a finger. "Yes sir." Maria started to stand up. How is he able to make what I said so short? She thought... "And two…" Ro said with a grin on his face. "What are you smiling for??" Maria said confused. "You really want to know?" Ro said still smiling. "Yea that would be helpful?" Maria stood up. "Then you might want to stand back." Ro kneeled down. Ro then put his hand on Jeans chest and pushed on it as hard ask he could. Water came gushing out of his mouth. "Jean, get up." Ro stood up and stepped back. "Right away Sir." Havoc started coughing. "Did you have to push so hard? You are heavier than I." "See he wasn't dead." Ro explained. "But, but, but….I pushed you under the water???" Maria looked at Havoc then at Ro, she was confused. "We military officers are built tough and if we ain't than we are trained until we are. The reason why Ro noticed that I wasn't dead is because he trained me himself." Havoc straightened up and put his hands to his sides. "Is that so, well looks like I didn't have anything to worry about after all." Maria crossed her arms and turned around. "No ma'am you didn't" Havoc knew he was settin himself up for trouble. "Don't call me MA'AM!!!" Maria started beating Havoc to a pulp. "Can we stop beating Havoc…he's kind of important to Central." Ro rubbed his forehead. "Sorry Sir but he deserved it. He made me think he was dead." Maria held the beaten Havoc in her right hand. "Actually do you want the truth?" Ro started rubbing his neck. "Ok lets here it…" Maria put her arms up then dropped them. "If I wouldn't have gotten to him when I did, he would have died from all the water in his lungs. Then I could have convicted you for murder of a higher authority." Ro said walking over to Alicia. Maria fell after hearing what Ro had said. Maria's eyes got big and she just stared at Havoc. She got up and went to Havoc. What is she going to do? He thought… "I'm so sorry that I almost drowned you Jean." Maria started crying and wrapping her arms around Havoc. Havoc couldn't do anything but smile and wrap his arms around her too. "I forgive you, after all it was an accident, you didn't know what would happen." Havoc relaxed his shoulders and laid his head on Maria's shoulders. Well looks like those to will be getting along great now.. Ro thought. Ro walked over to the sleeping Alicia and picked her up. He put his jacket on her so that he wouldn't lose it. "Havoc lets go!" Ro yelled. "Right away sir!" Havoc replied. "But what about Maria?" "I never said she couldn't come did I?" Ro tilted his head and smiled at Havoc. "Would you like a piggy back ride?" Havoc asked as he started kneeling down. "Sure why not" Maria fixed her hair. "Ok hop on." Havoc stood up with Maria on his back. Havoc they took off running after Ro. "What do you think the other guys will think when we come back with chicks and they ain't got nothin?" Ro asked, looking up at Alicia as he blew at her hair. "I don't know." Havoc replied as he tried to get ahead of Ro. But every time he tried Ro would speed up "What are you two chattin' about?" Maria leaned down and put her head on Havoc's shoulder. "Nothing just what they guys my might think when we come back with you and Alicia and they ain't got no one.." Havoc had a grin on his face. He doesn't know what I'm thinking does he? But when I seen Alicia I seen Hughes's face. This is his daughter. He thought. Maybe one he forgot about. They were nearing Central when they heard gunfire. It sounded like it was behind the building. "What was that?" Havoc started to slow down. "You mean to tell me they all this time at Central and you never heard a rifle go off?? If you ask me that's pretty pathetic," Ro looked at Havoc. Havoc stared at Ro. "Come on lets go, and quick." Ro sped up. They came up to Central and around the building. Ro seen and heard the Lead Rebel yelling. "Hey boys look who we got here! A couple more soldiers!" yelled the Lead Rebel. Ro handed Alicia to Havoc. "Protect these two and don't let them get hurt. Protect them with your life." Ro had a deep tone of anger in his voice. Havoc's eyes got big. He couldn't be serious. Is he really going to do what I think he's going to do? Havoc thought. Ro took off running. Of course he is, what was I thinking. He an untamable wolf himself. Havoc thought. Ro grabbed at his necklace and pulled it off. As soon as he pulled it off it turned to a battle sized sword. Ro started walking toward the lead rebel. "You go no further." Ro had a snarl in his voice. "And why not?" said the Lead Rebel. "You ain't able to stop us." "You really want to find out?" Ro still had the snarl in his voice. "Sure this should be fun." He helled. "Hey boys, bring out the machine guns lets mow this guy down." "Ro don't be too hasty!" Havoc yelled from behind. "Hey look he had three more behind him." Said the Rebel. "Havoc, you're an idiot you weren't suppose to talk…" Ro yelled toward Havoc. "Now run! And take them and yourself to my office, it's the only one built for a hardcore attack." "Right away Sir." Havoc said as he was running. "Now, fight me if you dare." Ro now had a demonic voice. "Oh so scary," said the Rebel as he laughed. Ro started walking closer to the rebel. All the attackers could see fire start coming out from under Ro's feet. His sword started to glow red with rage, as it reflected Ro's anger. Flames started to appear from behind him and they appeared from his hands. "Whoa looks like we got our selves an alchemist. And by the looks of it, one who has studied alchemy for years. He must be at least 50 years old." Said the Rebel. "Actually I was born with this gift and perfected it my own way. And I am only 26, and already head of the military." Ro said demonically. "So you're the head of the military? You are just the one we have been looking for, what was your name again? Something Mustang?" the Rebel tried to remember the first name. "Then you must be confused, for I am the only Mustang here." Roy said walking out of the building. "So you are Mustang that must mean you are head of military right?" said the Rebel. "No he's the head of the military, I am just the General." Roy had a smug look on his face. "So you are the one we must destroy." Said the Rebel. "Alright boys cut 'em down!" "No!" Ro yelled jumping in front of the gunfire. Ro couldn't bear the thought of his dad being killed in front of him. Ro was dodging every bullet and deflecting it with his sword. "You are one of the biggest idiots I know at times, you know that right?" Ro looked back at Roy. "Yea I figured that one, but tell me why did you jump in front of the gunfire to save me?" Roy nodded, then looked at Ro as if he was confused. "Would you believe me if I told you something?" Ro sighed as he still was dodging bullets. "Perhaps? What is it?" Roy was still confused. "About 26 years ago you were together with Lt. Hawkeye. You were a drunk beyond all help. What you didn't know is that she had a son. For five years she tried to keep her son out of fights between you and her, but he would try to get you two to stop. It always ended up with that little boy being scratched, cut, burned, or something else that caused pain." Ro's eyes went narrow as he thought about what happened 20 yrs ago. "How do you know that??" Roy looked at Ro as if he had been shot. "I'm Fuhrer, I know everything about you, But let's not spend our time talking, let's spend it fighting." Ro started to lower himself to the ground as if getting ready to run. "Yes Sir." Roy nodded. Ro and Roy started running toward the rebel attackers. They were completely engulfed with flames from their own tools. Roy with his spark gloves and Ro with his sword with the transmutation circle for fire on it. The rebels started firing at Ro and Roy. You could hear nothing but the crackle of the fire, the sound of things exploding, and the sound of the gunfire. "What the hell! These two are unbeatable!" they all yelled. Everything got really quiet, no one could hear anything. No one seen Ro or Roy. "Victory is ours!!" yelled the lead Rebel. "Are you so sure about that?" "Ahh crap" said the lead Rebel. "Before I kill you…what is your name, why you were sent, who you were sent by and who did they say could defeat you." "My name is…" he started. "My name is… Revel, I was sent to assassinate Colonel Mustang and the Fuhrer… I was sent by the new Ishbalin king. I don't know who this one is he keeps his face well hidden. And he said that I may be defeated by the Fuhrer, who's name is…Roronen Mustang." Roy looked at Ro with surprise. Ro gave Roy a look, telling Roy that we will talk later. "If I don't kill you now will you give a message to the Ishbalin king then report back to me. I will tell you the rest of the agreement from there. Agreed?" "Ye-ye-yes Sir." Revel started to stutter. "Good…tell your king that if he wishes to defeat me he needs to come and kill me himself." "Ye-ye-yes sir…. I will give him the message.." Revel said scared to death. "Good now go." As Revel ran from Central's courtyard, so did the rest of his poesy. Ro was watching them run and when they were out of site he dropped to one knee as he held his side. Roy was too busy to notice the blood from Ro's side when they were fighting. When Ro was on his knee he fell the rest of the way on the ground and blacked out. Roy runs over to Ro and picks him partially up. You could tell that Ro was out, he didn't move and he was limp. There was blood dripping from his side and from the side of his mouth. "Havoc!!" Roy yelled. "Yes sir…" Havoc was running toward Roy. "Get the medic! Have them bring a stretcher!" Roy turned his head toward Ro. "Yes sir." Havoc yelled as he ran inside the building. Ro could hear Roy but not very well. Roy sat there waiting for Havoc to return with the stretcher. As he was waiting he kept telling Ro that everything would be all right.
Three days later when Ro had woken up, he found that he wasn't in his apartment but in a house, but whose house? Ro groaned a bit and moved... When he moved he felt a lot of pain on one side, and he couldn't sit up... "Oh! I see you're awake" "Hmm, who's there?" Ro's eyes were out of focus and he couldn't see. "Don't recognize my voice huh?" "Not really" Ro said with his eyes still out of focus. "Would you like to get up?" "I would like to see who I'm talking to first." Ro started to stir a bit. "Turn your head you will see three people who never left your side." Ro turned his head to see who was in the room. "Hi, good to see those beautiful blue eyes again." "Alicia?" Ro was trying to re focus his eyes. "Now do you know who was talking to you?" She said. "You said there were three, who are the other two?" Ro asked. "Hold on a second and I will show you, but first we need to get you up." Alicia helped Ro to get sit up. "I still would like to know who the other two are." Ro was looking down at his lap and talking to Alicia. "Then look…" Alicia told him... Havoc was sitting in the room smiling at Ro. "Great to see you're awake, you had us all worried down at Central. We moved you here after we got you wrapped up, and dug those bullets out of your muscle." Havoc said with a grin on his face. "Not to mention your mother was worried about you too. She thought she lost her kid." "Who was that?" Ro looked toward the doorway. Roy walked in the room. "Hello Ro…" Roy had tears in his eyes. "Roy? You were the other to stay besides Havoc?" Ro asked starting to tear up. "Yea I was. I was also thinking about what you were telling me when you saved me from the gunfire. All the stuff about the little boy, and how long ago it was. You were talking about yourself. The little boy that wanted to stop the fighting that was you. I realized that when I was helping change your bandages and I seen the scar on your back from the fire burn. I was shocked when Revel said what your true last name was. I didn't know what to think." Roy was trying to hold back the tears. "So you finally figured it out. The little boy that I was talking about, the scars, burns, my mother, your being a drunk. All of it was me. I have had a better memory than you think. I knew what you used to do and most of it I didn't know how to walk yet. I can tell you everything clear up from when I was born to this day. But I wanted to break it to you myself that your Fuhrer was your son... But I blacked out before I could." Ro said also trying to hold back the tears. Alicia walked over to Havoc. "I think this is our cue to leave." Alicia whispered. The two walked out the door and went out to meet Riza. Roy sat with Ro as they tried to stop the tears from coming but it ended up failing. The couldn't stop crying. "You want to know what I was thinking when you were telling me about the past and what I was thinking when I was helping with your bandages?" Roy asked as he wiped the tears away. "What were you thinking?" Ro said with tears still in his eyes. "When you saved my skin and started telling me about the past I thought you were crazy. When I started changing your bandages and seen the scar, I started thinking that what if I had lost you…my Fuhrer…my son…my entire world. Back then I was kind of crude but nothing in this world I loved more even when I was drunk was you and your mother. When I realized I gave you that scar on your back I cried and cried and cried. Because I had given my entire world, my only son a burn that was the worst of them all. Your mother kicked me out after I hurt you. But if you want to know the truth…I saw someone outside the window that had a gun in their hand. All I really seen was the shine of something metal and the barrel of a gun... It was aimed toward you and I. But you had gotten in the way and I couldn't stop the flame. After that I tried to drowned all my sorrow, but failed. After time I forgot a little bit about it, but I still kept the thought in my head." Roy calmed down. "Is all of that true?" Ro asked wiping away the tears. "Every bit of it." Roy gave his son a hug. They gave each other a hug and smiled. "Now let's get you downstairs your mother is waiting to see you. Right now Havoc and Alicia are talking to her next to the pond were you and Alicia were curled up." Roy put a arm around his son to help him down the stairs. "Alright let's go downstairs. I'm pretty sure I don't need my jacket, it seems pretty warm out." Ro looked out the window then back at his father. "No you don't need your jacket, and neither do I." Roy started taking his jacket off. "Come on lets go downstairs." Ro and Roy walked downstairs and out to the pond so that Ro could see his mother. When Roy got Ro at least on the grass Ro started getting heavy for him. "Havoc!" Roy yelled. Havoc came running. "Yes sir?" Havoc was a little surprised to see the Fuhrer up already. But the Fuhrer was a tough one, you couldn't keep him down for nothin. "Give me a hand will ya?" Roy started to fall toward the ground. Havoc started clapping. "Not that kind of hand, now help me will you." Roy tried lifting himself up again. Ro signaled to Havoc to come over. He did. Havoc and Roy got Ro in site of his mother. She came running up to him. "There's my baby I thought I lost you! When Havoc told me what happened and that he didn't know if you were dead it made me worry." Riza started to cry. "Mom, can we stop with the water works please. Dad and I had already went through that with each other, besides you can see that I'm just fine." Ro hugged his mom then looked her in the eyes. "Sorry Ro, I was just worried. I didn't know what was going to happen, but it looks like you were well taken car of." Riza sniffled. "This would be the first time I seen her cry." Roy said to Havoc. "You missed out on a lot then. She cried every night when she had to kick you out. Only reason how I know is because I would go over every night to play with Ro when he was little. I would put him to bed for Riza, and her and I would sit and talk for a while. Sometimes she and I would fall asleep on the couch. I would lie down and she would sit at my feet or in the middle of the couch, and if she got to tired she would collapse on my chest. At least it comforted her." Havoc started to day dream. "Which is always a good thing. And I remember hearing whistling a lot and you would always turn your head when you heard a certain frequency of a whistle." Roy side looked at Havoc. "Ah you're talking about the whistle talk that Ro taught to me when he was really small. I think he was five years old." Havoc tried remembering back that far. "Well anyway at least he is alive, I didn't know if I was going to lose my only son." Roy scratched the back of his head. Did I change my fathers out look on life? When I blacked out I could still hear him a little bit he was saying 'everything will be alright' he sounded like he was trying to choke back the tears. Ro thought. "Hey Ro! Look who else is here to see you." Havoc yelled as he pointed towards the gate. Ro could see a little girl running toward him. It was Elicia, Hughes's youngest. "Uncle Ro! Uncle Ro! How are you? Daddy said that everybody in the military was worried about you." Elicia latched onto Ro's pant leg. "Did he say that?" Ro smiled then picked Elicia up. "Yes he did." Elicia smiled back. "Shame on you Maes, scaring your little girl like that." Ro started shaking his finger at Hughes. "She snitched me out already?" Hughes cocked his head. "Yup!" Elicia smiled then clung to Ro's shoulder. More from the military came to see Ro. Ed, Al, Revel the rebel, Maria, Winry, Rain, and even the Ishbalin king came to see Ro. They all showed up at different times. It was Ed and Al that came first, then it was Maria and Winry, then Revel and Rain, the last was the Ishbalin king. When the king showed up Ro got up to meet him. "Hello good to see you. I see that you got my message from Revel." Ro looked at the king with narrow eyes. "Yes I did get the message and I hear that through the land people were crying for one person, I believe that person was you?" He said in a sarcastic tone. "I didn't know everybody was, but I did know the people I knew were." Ro crossed his arms. "Some of the people you know were from Ishbal, that's how I found out. And you shall be the first of my kingdom to see my face, for I keep it well hidden." He announced. "Wait I know your voice from somewhere…" Ro tried looking into the hood. Ro looked under the hood, and seen an 'x' on the kings face. "Scar is that you?" Ro said in surprise. "So you figured it out did you? I knew you would sometime." Scar took his hood off then looked at Ro. "Come on lets go join the party." Ro grabbed Scar's hand and started to drag him to the back yard. "There is a party? It sounded pretty quiet." Scar asked cocking his head in the process. "We were wondering how many guests would show." Ro said in a low voice. "Well from what I can see there is enough people her to have a bar-be-que!" Alicia announced as she stood up. "Do you have a grill?" Ro asked as if he knew what she was going to say. "No??" She said cocking her head. "No problem then... My sword turns to different things." Ro smiled at Alicia. In no time there was a grill sitting in front of Alicia… "Do you have any meat and tools?" Ro asked with his back towards Alicia. "Now I do have that." She said running inside. Ro was getting the hang of walking again. He had walked in the house with Alicia after she brought out the bar-be-que tools, and tried getting out all the supplies that were needed for the bar-be-que. "What do you think we should have??" Alicia asked with her hand on her chin. "We will think of something." Ro started washing his hands. They started thawing out the meat and chopping vegetables, by time they were done with the preparations that had 2-3 plates of meat, corn, and shish-ka-bobs that were ready to cook. Ro and Roy went out and started the bar-be-quer. Havoc and Maria were swimming in the pond. Maes ((A/N: Maes is Hughes's first name))and Elicia were playing in the grass. Riza was playing with Black Hayate. When Roy came over to the bar-ba-quer Ro would go inside and get some water or he would go inside with Alicia. After a while Roy and Riza went over to the hammock and laid down. They were talking about the past and how it could be changed. Riza mentioned to Roy about him burning Ro on the back. "You burned Ro on the back when he was little. What you were thinking." Riza asked him. "If you really want to know the truth…" Roy paused. "I…I seen a shine…outside the window…it was aimed toward---" Roy broke down crying, again. "Roy what's wrong?? Why are you crying?" Riza asked as she tried to get him to look at her. "Its nothing," Roy said turning away. "Its something if you're crying now what is it?" she said turning his head back toward her. "Ok…I'll tell you." Roy said in a whiny voice. "That gun was pointed toward Ro and I. somebody was trying to stop the Mustang bloodline. If they would have succeeded that would be the ended of it. We wouldn't have our wonderful Fuhrer Ro, and we would never have met Alicia. We wouldn't have the fire alchemists here to protect Central Command. Ro saved my life, and the rest of the soldiers lives too by laying his own life on the line. He got shot to save all of us. We should be grateful for that." Riza started to cry a little for what such a strong man, could just break down as Roy has done. "He told me once…" Roy started. "He told me, that to make a hero you need faith, courage, and someone to believe in you." "Did he really say that?" Riza asked with a glimmer in her eye. "Yes he did, you can even ask him." Roy said trying not to cry anymore. Time passed after Ro's incident with the rebels. Ro was sitting in his office with a headache. "Knock, knock, May I come in?" a voice asked. "Hmm, yea come on in." Ro quickly looked up then back down toward his desk. "Hi, I thought I would come and pay you a visit?" she leaned in the doorway. Her hair fell off her shoulders as she was leaning in Ro's office. "Well it's great to have you come by, my dear Alicia." Ro looked up then sat back in his chair, he tried relaxing as he talked to Alicia. "I was wondering if you could come and help me with some yard work." Alicia asked. "Sure why not, I will even bring some one with me to--" Ro got cut off. "Actually Ro…" Alicia started as she walked up to Ro. "I was hoping that it could be just you that comes?" "Well ok? If you insist??" Ro sounded confused. "Ok well um I will see you…I guess tomorrow or tonight?" Alicia turned, and started walking out of Ro's office. She left him dazed, confused, dreaming, and idiotic. "Um well ok?? I guess I will come over tonight, and just stay the night I guess?" Ro said a little confused. "Great I guess I will see you…umm…at 8:00 then?" Alicia put her finger to her lips. "Yea tonight at 8:00…will be fine." Ro said still confused. "So I guess it's a date then? Well not a real date…but configuratively speaking, I mean--" "Hush Ro, you got it right…it's a date. I will see you at 8:00, my house ok?" Alicia said putting her finger to Ro's lips to make him stop yammering. "Alright…" Ro said as he closed his eyes, and kissed the palm of Alicia's hand. "Hold the palm of your hand to you heart and you will feel me there. As you see I know more tricks than my father, take a look at your hand and you will see." "Were you kissed my hand…you left a warm spot…like a ring of fire…?" Alicia looked at her hand. "I told you that I knew more tricks than my father." Ro said in a soft voice. "Yea you did, and I'm not surprised either." Alicia let a smile spread across her face. It was three hours later from when Alicia invited Ro to her home. She cleaned her house for the occasion. She lit candles, set out plates, and the whole house smelled like a wonderfully made home cooked meal. I sure hope he likes lasagna…that's about all I'm good at cooking. Hmm I wonder if I got everything set out right. Lets see…I got candles to make the house smell good, I got dinner cooking, I got plates set out… Alicia trailed off.
It was 7:55 when Ro showed up at the door. He rang the door bell and took a step back. Alicia walked to the door to see who it was. "Oh hello Ro…I'm glad you could make it over." Alicia said with a smile. "Yea me too." Ro said kind of quietly as he put his hand on his neck as if he was scratching the back of his neck. "What was that?" Alicia turned around to ask her question. "Nothing…nothing at all." Ro said trying to cover it up. "May I come in?" "Oh…yes…come in please." Alicia said blushing then moving to the side to let her guest in her home. Ro walked in the door and got a good whiff of the house. "Wow it smells great in here. The smell of the candles and it smells like your cooking something…" Ro bent his head back so that he was looking upside down at Alicia. "That's because I am cooking something…" Alicia put her hand to her mouth as she tried to keep in a giggle. "I hope you like lasagna…because that's about all I'm good at cooking---" "I'm sure it's delicious…" Ro put his head the right way again. "After all I will eat any type of food good or bad, and I'm honest I'm not like Havoc who would lie. If it didn't taste good I would help you perfect it…" "Wow looks like you are good at showing off." Alicia gave a cocky smile in Ro's general direction. "Maybe…but I'm more of a people person." Ro Bent over backwards onto his hands, then lowered his hands enough so that his head was on the floor. "And I don't have anyone to love…well besides my mom…but I have loved her all my life. I was a real mama's boy…course I was raised around good people too." "Are they military?" Alicia laid down on her stomach to look Ro in the eyes. "A few of them were. Would you like to know who they are?" Ro crossed his arms across his chest. "If it's not too much trouble?" Alicia laid her head down on her arms. "It's no trouble at all…" Ro said with a soft smile as he reached into his back pocket. He pulled something out of his back pocket. "What's that that you got there?" Alicia lifted her head. "It's my wallet…I had it specially made…it has the military emblem on it and slots to put pictures or cards." Ro started opening his wallet. "I have pictures of my family in it…they send my mother updated pictures and she gives me a copy of them." "Well I guess that's nice…at least you get to see what your family looks like every time they get their pictures taken." Alicia laid her head back down. "oh Ro…" she got Ro's attention. "yea?" he shifted his eyes from his pictures to Alicia. He was still upside down. His feet on the ground and his head on the ground. Alicia moved her hand to Ro's cheek, then to the back of his head. He was so into focusing on Alicia, that when she moved his head closer to her that his back dropped. "Ow that hurt…but at least it popped my back…" Ro turned over onto his stomach. He put his arms out in front of him, then laid his head on his arms. "you alright?" Alicia tried to get Ro to look at her. "yea…I'm fine. Hey you got any Aspirin?" "yea I have some aspirin…I'll go get you some" Alicia got up to get Ro some Aspirin. When she came back he was laying on her couch, panting. "Ro, what's wrong?" Alicia knelt down by Ro's side. "I…don't…know. I just…got up…and…felt…kinda dizzy…so I…went to…lie down…then…just started…panting." he said between breaths. Ro tried standing up, he used Alicia to lean on. She walked him to the kitchen. She sat him down on one of her chairs. He was really pale, almost like a ghost. He was keeping his head up for a few seconds, but as soon as Alicia turned her head, his head fell backwards. "Ro, Ro stay with me now…" She didn't know what to do, she turned around and got a glass of water to see if it would help. "Ro try to drink this, maybe it would help." She lifted his head up and put the glass to his lips. He lifted his hand about halfway to were the glass was then dropped it. "did that help any?" she got him to look at her. "A little bit…what's in that water of yours?" he kept panting, but it wasn't as hard as before. "fast acting vitamins, why?" she started checking the color in his eyes. "Because it tastes awful…" he stared at her. "Yea I know, but at least they worked." she helped him up to see if he could stand. She took him to the couch to sit him down. He sat down, then leaned back. "are you alright now?" she sat down next to him, but facing him. She sat criss-cross facing I him. He sat close to one of the ends of the couch and she sat at the end. "no I'm not alright, I haven't felt this bad since god only knows when." he turned his head towards her. He looked at her like he was about to cry. He was still panting. "Oh Ro, it's alright……it's alright…" Alicia leaned forward, and wrapper her arms around him softly pulling him closer to her. She grabbed one of the pillows behind her, and put it in her lap. "here, lie your head down…" she put her arms out to pull him down to the pillow. He laid his head down on the pillow.
As soon as his head hit the pillow he fainted, and Alicia didn't know it. Time went on and she still didn't notice. When she finally noticed that he wasn't breathing, she grabbed the cordless phone behind her. She called up Colonel Mustang. The phone started ringing. Oh come on answer the phone, She was looking towards Ro then back away. "hello…" Roy wasn't completely awake when Alicia called. He was laying in bed. "Colonel…I need you to come here now…" she sounded terrified. She started crying a bit. "Alicia…what's wrong? Did something happen?" Roy tried to calm Alicia down. "oh no, no, no, this cant be happening…" she started shaking her head back and forth. "Alicia…calm down. Tell me what's the matter…" Roy sat up in his bed. "it's Ro…he's…" Alicia was crying real heavy now. "I'll be right there." Roy hung up the phone. He got dressed, then headed for the door. Alicia hung up the phone on the other end then ran to Ro. He was still as still as he was when she called the Colonel.
10 minutes later
Roy opens the door and runs to Alicia. "ok I'm here…now what happened?" Roy looked at Alicia in surprise. "He just…just stopped breathing. I had him lie down to rest his back after he bent backwards then fell. Then he looked like he was sick so I took him in the kitchen and got him some water. When he started talking normally I took him back in to sit down on the couch. He sat down, I sat next to him. I put a pillow in my lap. I put my arms out to pull him down to lie down. He fell asleep from what I knew. Then…when I looked back at him he wasn't breathing…" Alicia explained what had happened before the Colonel asked her, she knew he was going to ask anyway. "I see…so he caught ammonia did he." Roy stood up straight. He started to look around the floor. "ammonia?" Alicia looked at him confused. "usually when he hits his back he gets ammonia, or it could be something he caught outside. He was always prone to catching something. When he was little we had to give him a special type of medicine to keep him from getting sick. I doubt you could find it now…" he started. "he is this were he hit his back at?" she ignored his question. "what is the medicine?" she sat there on the ground looking at Roy. "I could probably tell you if I seen it…" he looked toward Ro. "He was right here right? When he hit his back?" "well I have a medicine cabinet… I stock it with every kind of medicine…for any occasion…I might have it?" she stood up. "and yea he hit his back right there…why?" he ignored her this time. "ok let me go look u stay with him, and get a bowl or a pan or something…" Roy went to the bathroom to look through the medicine cabinet. Alicia ran to the kitchen to grab a pot, then ran to Ro's side. She was sitting there by his side, worried, watching to see if he wakes up. She could hear Roy stifling through the medicine cabinet, loudly. He banged his fist on the sink. "ouch!! That wasn't a smart thing to do!!" he yelled as he held his hand. "what did you do?" she looked toward the bathroom. "slammed my hand down" he touched his hand, then pulled it back. "there's some ice in the freezer and some bags in the cabinet next to the stove." she turned her head back toward Ro. She leaned forward enough to lie her head down in his chest. She laid her hands in front of her across his chest to help hold herself up a little bit.
What was happening to him as he lie there…
He woke in a white room. He opened his eyes slowly as if he had been asleep for years. "were am I?" he tried sitting up. "you are in the judgment portion of heaven." a voice appeared out of no where. "who's there?" Ro was startled. "no need to be afraid…" the voice appeared again. "show your self…" he looked around. "welcome, we have been waiting for you for many years, Roronen." some one started to appear from out of now where, they were walking towards Ro. "ok that's kind of creepy, and who are you?" Ro tilted his head then narrowed his eyes. "come now you should know who I am, surely you haven't for gotten your bible you read while no one is around…" they said. "how do you know that? Who are you? And why is there like a heavy weight on my chest? And why am I in a very bright white room?" he was confuse about a lot of thing but more at who this person was. "I am what I am, I am the earth, the stars, the sky, the moon, the sun, the air, I am all that you see around you." they held out their arms as to comfort someone who has fallen. "wait…" Ro put his head down. "that quote…Iam what I am, I am all that you see around you…" "I can see that you are thinking now…" they closed their arms and put their hands together. "I know that verse…wait! You are Christ!" his head shot up towards the figure. But it had vanished. "were did you go?" Ro held his head straight to listen all around him. "I have been here the entire time." Christ appeared to the other side of Ro. "can we please not disappear then reappear." he asked narrowing his eyes. He nodded towards Ro. "I heard you asking some questions a little earlier would you like them answered?" Christ walked towards Ro. "If you don't mind, yes." Ro nodded. "your first and second question has already been answered, I am Jesus Christ." "I kind of figured that one out thanks" he narrowed his eyes again. "your third question I can show you…" Christ moved his hand in front of Ro, revealing to him a window to the present situation on earth. "that…that's me right now? Gees I'm pale…but that doesn't answer why there's a weight on my chest. It only shows me from my shoulders up…" he looks away from the window. The screen moves down to reveal the weight on his chest. His eyes filled with tears. "Alicia…she's the weight on my chest? And she's crying…why?" Ro looked at Christ again. "on earth you have a fatal case of ammonia, and when u fell your back hit a rusted nail that Alicia didn't know about. Your father is also at the house. And your dear Alicia is asleep right now. All she knows is that you have the ammonia and that you stopped breathing." Christ looked at Ro. "you mean I'm dead!!" Ro's eyes started turning blood red. "you always had trouble with your temper, that's why you joined the military." Christ folded his arms. "I disapprove when your right…" Ro narrowed his eyes, again. "well you always have" Christ closed his eyes and lowered his head. "can't I go back…my mother needs me…my father, the military, Alicia, Elicia, Havoc for sure…" he now had a whine in his voice. "I have saved you more than once you know…but I guess I can keep you alive till your at least 80-years-old." Christ smiled at Ro. A wide smile spread across Ro's face. "thank you sir. I'm so happy you are doing this." Ro could hardly contain himself. "you must calm down, and lie down…" Christ pushed Ro down as he was talking to him. "yes sir…and…thanks again" Ro leaned back and closed his eyes.
When he is sent back.
He opens his eyes as if he has been asleep for years. You could see the glare from the candle light in his eyes. He started to breathe again but just vaguely. He took in a deep breath. His heart started to beat. Alicia had started to awake from her sleep. She woke to the sound of Ro's strong heart beating, and him breathing. She lifted her head to look at him. "Ro?" she stood halfway up. "Roy!! He's awake!!" Roy came running out of the bathroom. He hit the brick wall at the doorway to the living room. "thank god he's awake!!" Roy put his hand to his head. "thank Christ…" Ro was really hoarse. "thank who?" Roy bent down to hear what Ro said. "thank Christ" he repeated. "he's still pale, think I should call someone?" Alicia looked up at Roy. "yea…call Hughes first. Have him come up with an excuse to tell the soldiers. I'll call his mother. You call the ambulance." Roy turned to walk away. "yes sir." she got up and went to the phone. Alicia picked up the phone and dialed her fathers phone number. The phone started ringing.
"hello?" Hughes picked up the phone and began rubbing his eyes. "hi Dad." Alicia leaned against her counter. "Alicia? Its 4'oclock in the morning, what are you doing calling so early?" he laid back down. "just called by orders of Colonel Mustang to have you make something up to tell the other soldiers about the Fuhrer. He came down with ammonia and Roy and I have to get him to the hospital." Alicia looked in the living room to check up on Ro. He was awake on the couch but he was still, to still, on the couch. Alicia got to thinking about what her life would be like if she was the Fuhrer's girlfriend, or perhaps his wife? "Alicia?" Hughes called. "Alicia talk would ya…" "oh sorry dad, was deep in thought." she look in the living room again. "oh really, you sure you weren't staring at the Fuhrer?" Hughes let a smile spread across his face. "how could you possibly know that?" Alicia narrowed her eyes. "same way I'm your father." Hughes tapped on the window. Alicia turned around in surprise. "but how did you…? When did you get here?" Alicia turned around. "when you called I was on my way out the door." Hughes let another smile spread across his face. "anyway we need to get Ro to the hospital, he's not doing so well, come see." Alicia signaled to her father to follow her. She knelt down beside Ro. She started to talk to him. He looked at her with eyes full of sorrow. "hey, it's not your fault you came down with this…there's no reason to be sad. We will get you taken care of." Alicia looked at him, a little worried, then looked at her dad. "let me look at him." Hughes knelt down beside his daughter. "an…pheda…mine…" Ro could barely be heard. "Dad he said something…let me get over there…I'll stay at his head." Alicia moved to his head. She put both of her hands on both sides of his head. She started moving her hands along his jaw line. "He's got a faint pulse…" Hughes laid his head against Ro's chest so that he could hear his heart beat. "it seems to be growing stronger…" Hughes lifted his head from his Fuhrer's chest. "Hey…what did you say a minute ago." Alicia looked over the couch at Ro. She had her hands underneath his head now, she started to move her thumb up and down his cheek. "I said…amphet…amine" he raised his head a little so she could scoot her hands farther under his head, to support his neck. "Amphetamine? What does amphetamine have to do with the subject?" Alicia lifted her eyes to look at her dad. "I think an amphetamine is what they used to give him to keep him from getting sick…" Hughes looked at his daughter. "What kind of amphetamine?" she looked down at Ro again. "Dexamethasone…its more of an allergenic drug than cure all" he whispered the words. "We will see what we can do…ok?" Alicia whispered the words in his ear. "so what type of amphetamine did he say it was?" Hughes continued making sure everything was alright with his Fuhrer. "Dexamethasone…wait…I have some different types of Amphetamines…" she looks at her dad. "ask him kinds there are…" Hughes moves his hand towards his daughter. She looks at Ro, she starts moving her thumb again to get him to open his eyes. He opened his eyes for her. "Hey, what are the types of amphetamines?" her hair fell over her shoulders. "Ephedrine… Adderall…Methamphetamines such as Desoxyn… Dexedrine…Ritalin…Concerta…and Benzadrine. But they all have different purposes. There also might be more…I only know of some of them. Just about any of those might work." his voice was getting louder, but not very quickly. "I think I might have those…" Alicia looked behind her to see if the Colonel was still looking for the medicine. "which one?" Hughes listened to what his daughter was saying. He never once looked up from the medical box he had found. "I'll be right back ok?" she slipped one hand out from under his neck. She signaled to her dad to come to were she was. "so what do I need to do?" Hughes kneeled down. "put your hand underneath mine…" she slipped her other hand out from under Ro's neck. His neck dropped an inch to Hughes's hand. Alicia got up from were she sat, and went to Roy. "Ro said that the medicine was an amphetamine…then he listed off the ones that he knew of…" Alicia stood in the door way looking at Roy. "oh? And what did he list off?" Roy glanced at Alicia. "nothing that I had…looks like our only other opinion is the ambulance." Alicia closed her eyes. "yea your right…well go call 'em." Roy put his head down. Alicia walk to the phone, she dialed 9-1-1. "hello, what's your emergency?" the lady asked. "I have some one here who has ammonia. He's not doing so well…he's really pale." Alicia looked towards Ro, again. "ok we will send someone out right way." the lady assured her. "ok thank you…" Alicia hung up the phone. She walks into the living room to take over for her dad. "ok good you're here, now you can take over…my shoulder is killing me." Hughes lifted his Fuhrer's head so Alicia could put her hands in his place. "sure thing dad…" Alicia slipped her hands under Ro's head. Hughes walked back to were Roy was. She moved her thumbs again in a soft pattern that woke him up. "hi…glad to see your back…" he stretched his neck and tilted his head backwards. "hi to you too. Its great to see your beautiful blue eyes again…" she smiled. He smiled back. "hey we are going to get you fixed up ok? We just called an ambulance." she looked up so she could hear if they were coming. They weren't, so she sat at his head with her hands under his neck till they got there.
When they got there Ro was looking a bit better than he was. He was lying on the couch with a girl at the head of the couch with her hand under his neck. The chief paramedic walked over to wake Alicia. "if I was you I wouldn't touch her or wake her." Ro had his eyes closed, slightly, but he was really good at listening to his surroundings. "who was that?" the chief looked around. "I can tell your looking around…you must have been called over me?" Ro kept his eyes shut. "on the couch? And we were called over someone" the chief looked over at Ro to see that it was he who was talking. "you were called over by a girl…am I correct? She said something about someone catching ammonia and they were pale?" Ro looked up toward the head of the couch. He lifted his head to whisper in Alicia's ear. She stirred, but didn't wake. He turned his head to her arm, he started to nibble on her arm but gently. She stirred again. He looked toward her
