Entry Fifty-Six...Souls/Spirits |

I've been sort of wondering lately. What are we? Exactly, I mean.
You see, ghosts are pretty much someone's spirit or soul. So in turn that would mean that the human body would be the shell, or the vessel. Does that mean that if our soul was to be in a non-human body, then we wouldn't be human? Are souls even human, if that's true, or are there different "types"? Going with the vessel assumption, scientists could possibly recreate a human body, maybe even to the exact measurements. They know what it's made of. Sure it wouldn't be alive, but it would prove that they can make a proper body.
If they did, could they "bring life" to it? Human bodies conduct electricity and the charges between synapses in the brain are electric as well. If scientists jump-started a body they created, would it call a soul to inhabit it, or would it not be possible since a dead body's life has fled from it? Because once someone's dead for more than a few minutes, normally medic can't resuscitate them seeing as their soul has already moved on.
Or, is the calling of a soul triggered by the body's carrier, such as a mother? Infants are created from two halves of DNA, and cells are built from the code(s). Is the "creation of life" the "calling" that a soul needs to inhabit a body, thus creating a being, usually sentient?
With that said, we're just souls. That's why when we think, our words seem to "float" in our mind. And if you think about how we actually "think" in our heads, the words seem insubstantial and faded.
I have a few other theories about souls and spirits and the human body. But those'll be for next time if anyone reads these. I wonder if anyone's subscribed to my journal and gets a notice whenever another entry is created. I'm subscribed to a few of my friend's journals, myself, because I like to learn about their thoughts.
