I don’t mind them at times but there are moments where some of them annoy me. Actually it’s more like people who are new — don’t know the fandom or have never heard of headcanon come across them, and then they start spreading that headcanon around like it’s fact. Why? Because the headcanon made it seem like what it said was fact.
A good example of that would be that Harry Potter headcanon, the one that shows a picture of a baby Harry Potter and below it is a picture of Harry’s son, Albus. It says, “Did you know? The baby in Harry Potter 1 is Albus Severus in Harry Potter 7?”
That’s all. It doesn’t say it’s a headcanon, or that it’s false in any way. So pretty much any who are new to the series and come across it will take it as fact. Then they get confuse with other headcanons and more so when people correct them with the truth. It gets tiring over time correcting them because these headcanons aren’t saying they are headcanons.
It would make it so much easier for the new ones getting into the fandom to understand and make it less annoying for the older ones. By the way, the baby’s name was Toby Papworth and Albus Severus was acted by Arthur Bowen. So they are in fact, NOT the same actors.
