With no curtains, I find privacy, freedom from the eyes and deafening murmurs of old neighbors. With that small window, I find the beauty of the infinite blue sky. At night, I dive into an ocean of stars which drowns me in a sweet deluge of something more intoxicating than vodka. No hotels could be compared to the comfort I find in these walls that aren’t even wallpapered or painted. The cold bare cement is enough to hide my secrets. My bed is small, but here at last, I won’t fear a monster lurking under.
I thought these bars would take away my freedom, yet these bars have set me…
free.
