A never ending issue is the fact that people can’t respect other people’s opinions. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and no one has the right to stop them from thinking and saying whatever they want. No one can stop you from saying that you think Twilight is the best book ever written. Even if that claim is (and can be) disproven.
However, if you pass your opinion as universally true when it’s clearly false because facts prove it so. Then don’t be surprise when people educate you on why your opinion isn’t correct. People are much more entitled to opinions that are well-supported by evidence. And no matter what the subject of the opinion is, it’s important to remain respectful of each other.
Many people just don’t know how to use discretion when voicing their opinions. It’s very rude to come into a restaurant, declare that you hate the food and that the people inside are stupid for liking it. It’s also terrible to hunt down people and curse them out just because they disagree with your opinion. Or use your opinion to provoke others…which you will if it’s written in a douche way.
