A huge conflict erupted between the Gods with Earth becoming a battlefield. Innocent lives were ended maliciously with the Gods using Earth as their playground. They didn't care all who was killed. They just wanted to slaughter each other. Eventually someone stepped in, a mere soul that couldn't handle the fighting anymore. He created 5 stones which created an alternate dimension. A dimension where the gods would be forced to reside in them. To make sure the stones worked, five beings were entrusted with the stones powers. The gods were sucked into the portal, where they would continue to battle it out, as the portal closed behind them, locking them within their makeshift prison.
The guardians as they deemed themselves, saw that it was too dangerous to stick together, so they traveled and separated. Eventually they died through mysterious circumstances and the stones vanished with them. Centuries passed and soon the threat of the dimension opening was in the air once more. The so called guardians had all being reincarnated with the stones deep within their bodies, totally unaware of the power they hold as darkness started to seep into the boundaries of Earth. Some of them were captured and turned, others remained hidden. Slowly they were starting to regain fragments of their passed, while being hunted down for the power they now carry.
Those of the higher states if the divine eventually sent down five angels or guardians to watch over the reborn, to help them with their task in protecting the stones. These guardians cannot be far from their protectees, because they were created with the stones in mind. Nonetheless, dark forces are on the rise. They want the stones to unlock the portal, to free the imprisoned gods to ravage the world. After all the gods promised them ultimate power if they could free them. So hunters have been sent out to capture the reborn and their guardians. However to open up the portal, the reborns must die. For innocent blood split with the stones can unlock the gods, but kill in the process. Anyways hunters have been sent out to collect them and bring them to their leader at all costs. Can they survive and protect the stones? Or will they fall victim to the releasing of the Gods and bringing chaos back to the world?
