I would like to see a survival game in which the main character struggles to stay alive and sane in a corrupted world filled with crazy people and monsters. The focus should be on the hardship and trying to keep sane, especially that insanity part. It would be interesting to see a game where it shows a character suffering from loneliness and possibly psychological issues but the twist is that the players aren’t aware of how “insane" the character is.
Maybe show that the character was infected all that time and we see from their point of view the process of becoming a monster. Only that is wasn’t until the end did the players realize that not everything appear as straightforward as they thought. Such as maybe the main character made up their companion who never was actually there helping them out? Or maybe crazy people where actually regular people recognizing a monster and were just trying to protect themselves from the character? Or that the monsters are
I don’t know but I thought it would be a cool idea. I started thinking about how video games are starting to improve in story telling and it would be nice to see some serious survival games. Sure, games like Dead Rising, Left 4 Dead and whatnot are all fun but they are simple and to the point. There’s no real substance in their story and it doesn’t put fear into the players or have them truly care about their characters.
